Like ripples on still water during a rainstorm, the Kriegar "Earth Orb" Pocket Knife is a unique beauty that weds dazzling patterns and brilliant color with clean, sleek form. Its classic 3 1/2" drop point blade is forged from elegant DamascTec steel, which features a mesmerizing, practically hypnotic "raindrop" etch pattern. A whirlwind of waves, swirls and - as the knife's name suggests - concentric orbs, the exclusive silver titanium-plated DamascTec steel offers premium durability and unequaled allure at an incredible value. Carefully honed to a razor sharp edge, the Orb's blade deploys swiftly and smoothly, thanks to the advanced assisted opening mechanism. Ambidextrous thumb studs and a convenient flipper allow for easy, one-handed opening, and the Orb's sturdy liner lock keeps the blade fixed firmly in place for added safety and stability while open. Blue DamascTec steel handle scales exquisitely mirror the blade; the splendor of the azure titanium plating is superbly offset by the mellow gray titanium-plated steel that surrounds it. At a comfortable 4 1/2" closed, the Earth Orb is easy to carry, especially with the built-in pocket clip and lanyard hole. Its striking beauty and distinctive charm makes it equally well suited to display, especially alongside its sister folders - the stunning silver "Moon Orb," and radiant golden-hued "Sun Orb" (both sold separately). Regardless of how you use it, however, rest assured the Kriegar Orb Assisted Opening Pocket Knife will stand the test of time - just like the earth, sun and moon by which it's inspired.

Good Knife

With a classic look and solid weight, this is a great knife to have. The raindrop Damascus pattern is merely surface decoration but it opens easily and cuts well.

Feels like a much more expensive knife.

I bought this on a whim for myself to round out an order that was mostly gifts for others. I didn't have high expectations but the knife came fairly sharp and has a decent weight. The assisted opening was a bit sluggish and sticky but with a minor adjustment and a little use it is now fast and smooth. I also removed the pocket clip on mine as well just because I like the feel better. I've had this a few weeks now and it has become my go to knife for small cutting jobs. I would classify my use as mild to moderate everyday tasks. The weight, sturdy construction and fast smooth action has made this the one knife I always have on me. Anyone who's used mine is surprised at the low price I paid. If you looking for a good solid knife that will actually see some use you really can't go wrong with this.

I love this knife! I've bought several, to give as gifts to friends. The construction is very sound, the assisted opening works like a dream and the blade is VERY sharp. I haven't had a chance to see how well it holds the edge, but it sharpens quite easily (I use the Lansky sharpening system, with angled carbide sharpening surfaces). And the darn thing is BEAUTIFUL! I use it as a money clip, as the pocket clip fastens my bills very securely (so much so that I had to let the clip sit for a few days, forced open, before I could easily slip folding money in and out of it). The "Ecliptic", also made by Kriegar, is also a fine knife for the money. MUCH lighter, having a polymer frame instead of steel, and with a more conventional leaf blade, instead of the rather wicked spear point of the "orb".

The blue on the handle matches the blade. The subdued blue/grey combo looks very classy. The blue color along with the design keeps it from looking blah. Heavy for its size(good). Well constructed and pretty sharp.
