This is an exact replica of the M7 bayonet issued by the US military during the Vietnam War to fit M-16 rifles. The fully functional piece is equipped with a 9" full tang stainless steel blade with a heavy blood groove. The black checkered handle features heavy duty construction and provides a superb grip. The guard and butt are also of solid stainless steel. A leather sheath is included. Barrel ring may have to be milled to fit over different muzzles. Not exactly mil spec but close enough

"The barrel ring it too large, and the bayonet lug clasp needs to filed out, so when is done it’s wobbly on an AR-15 or M16 type rifle, but mine was going on a Winchester 1200 trench/riot home defense gun, so I was able to make it work okay. I love the fact that the blade is longer than the real M7 and it looks great on the shotgun. Very happy with the purchase even with the needed modification."

I wiuld like to know what kind of steel the blade is made from and its thickness?? Dont say stainless steel.: This item is made from 440 stainless steel and is 1/8 inch thick.
