Sjambok
"I'm used to seeing polypropylene ones. This leather one has more flexibility. Easier wide swings with a slight snap at the end. Another great purchase for me."

"Great tool. Prompt delivery. Thanks"
"I am extremely impressed with my purchase of the Night Watchman sjambok from BudK. It is a faithful reproduction of the South African model. It offers tremendous "bang for the buck," selling at a very advantageous price. I also greatly appreciate the thoroughly secure packaging job that was done to insure that the sjambok would arrive safely and soundly. Thank you very much! I look forward to future purchases."
"Cons: 1. Wrapped around half dowel wood/half rope. The result is a disconcerting joint between limp rope and rigid dowel that reduces intimidation factor. (Your wagging your limp noodle at your enemy.) 2. Lacks the weight, hence, the firepower, of the polypropylene competition. 3. The leather on the handle is noticeable too slick and is just plain slippery. Pros: 1. Good quality leather. Better than expected. Looks much more authentic and "quality" than polypropylene competition. 2. Light weight = speed. This thing is fast. So lack of firepower is partially recompensed by rate of fire. This thing is coming back the other way before you know it. 3. A good compromise between the expense of pure leather and the thrifty firepower of polypropylene. All in all... buy one."
