The knife is very nice and the sheath is very nice. Also it has a belt loop.
Aug 30, 2016

What a knife, sharp as hell right out of the box, Very heavy and fits in my hand perfect. I could not ask for more.
Aug 13, 2016

I bought a couple of these knives and I must say I'm very pleased with them. Good looking, well built, substantial, and priced right.
Jul 13, 2016

This knife is very very very good quality for the price you get. I will say when I got the knife I did have to sharpen it a bit, but no big deal. It's practically a baby machete in my hand! Could probably split wood with this thing if you really had to. Great survival knife.
Jan 22, 2016

iv had this knife for a while now n iv noticed MANY different things about it..if you take it apart youd see that itd be perfect for using as a booby trap device and also im pretty sure you can fashion it into a one shot gun with a few alterations..i dont think this is by coincidence and i thing America is in for a REAL red dawn if ya ask me
Jan 19, 2016

Got this as an anniversary gift from my amazing wife, came with a nice edge and made it razor sharp in min. I would definitely recommend this knife especially for the price
Mar 03, 2015

first thing I noticed was that style. second, I am a green beret sniper...not sharp as razor....but I fixed that real quick. awesome knife for the price
Sep 02, 2014

I noticed a big selling point was the cool logo on the blade, etc. Nice, but that's meaningless information to me. Talk about the knife. 440 Steel and thick, sturdy blade... extremely durable. It has an excellent non-slip grip with the diamond checkering pattern. This is awesome if you have to use it in wet, or damp conditions. It happens to have a saw-back, which is also not a big selling point with me, but the blade itself holds an edge very well. The custom sheath does hold the knife fairly secure even when inverted. It also has several (tie-down) securing points which pretty much allows just about any type of configuration you may want to use for carry. I'm, "old school" so I prefer upside down and attached to the front of a shoulder strap on an LBE harness or Alice Pack. You cannot beat the price for this high-quality knife. No complaints here, from this former Air Cav Trooper. Thumbs up boys.
Jul 10, 2014

This is an awesome bowie. When I got mine it came razor sharp out of the box. After using it for a little while the blade came a little lose but I fixed it with some super glue. It is awesome for hacking and it stabs very well. The saw works alright. Overall this bowie is sweet! And I'm giving 5 stars.
Jun 19, 2014

Right when I got this knife I absolutely loved it. The blade was an awesome shape and really thick and since I got it when it was buy one get one free I have another one too give to a friend, it is really cool looking and has a nice feel and weight to it, the only thing was that it didn't come out of the box very sharp so I just touched it up with a stone but I would definitely recommend this to anyone, it is worth the money.
Mar 17, 2014

Fantastic. The blade is thick, neatly shaped, and has a very nice handle. It's also very well balanced, and the sheath is perfect. The serrations on the back work pretty well, and it's overall a very great tool to use in the outdoors. The only downside is it's very dull, and is a hassle to sharpen. Despite that, it still has a lot of good chopping power. Well made, and is all-around a great buy.
Nov 28, 2013

I actually got mine at at a little sword shop, paid 38 for it. This knife if so good looking and the case fits well, haven't had a problem with the case or the handle. Is is a very sturdy knife and the back saw is very nice. When I took mine out of the case it wasn't the sharpest, but it sure cut me good.

Sep 11, 2013

This is my all-around utility knife. It's not delicate, and handles any task around the camp. It's also very comfortable in your hand.
Jul 25, 2013

I got this knife during a large purchase and I wasn't 100% I'd like it. That all changed once it was out of the box and in my hand. You can feel the power behind this blade. It didn't have much of an edge out of the box, but once it does it will be an M1 Abriams tank!
Jul 23, 2013

This knife is by far one of the best products on this site! It is unbelievably sturdy, and holds an edge once you put it on. The blade is wicked, and the saw blade does its job. ( I built a shelter in 15 minutes with all the saplings I sawed with it). The sheath is heavy duty plastic, and will surpass your expectations. There is not a time when I do not have this thing on me when I'm outdoors. A trusty companion, at truly a remarkable price. If you are reading this review, I urge you to take out your credit card, and add this fine piece of steel to your bugout bag, camping pack, or collection!!!!
Jul 11, 2013

Very good buy I picked it up on a bogo sale and was very surprised with the quality for the money. Thanks for the great deals!
Jul 01, 2013

This is a fantastic knife for the price. Great for a bugout bag, survival kit, or camping. If you're reading this review, you should just stop and add it to your cart already. You get more than your money's worth and this knife should be priced more around its suggested retail, because for twenty bucks, this is a great knife.
Jun 26, 2013

The deep belly on this blade puts the weight forward, making it an excellent chopper, as well as looking very cool. I would not choose it as a full-on survival or tactical knife, because the half-tang and hollow plastic handle make it too vulnerable for life-or-death work. It does make an excellent camp knife though, and the sheath works well for me.
Jun 21, 2013

For the price, can't beat it. Glad to be on the business end of it. I have read alot of ppls say the blade becomes loose. All you have to do is use the right size hex wrench and tighten it at the end and all will be well. Duhhhhh..Here's Your Sign!!
May 10, 2013

This is what I expected it to be a Military Style Survival Knife thats Built for the Job. Looks Bad-A lying in the box and ready to be put to the Test!!! Pulled it out, looked it over , got the feel of it in my hand , the weight is real nice the edge needs a little touch-up the sheath fits snug and straps to my leg perfect. Glad I got the BOGO deal , its nice to know I have an extra , get this knife no matter what you PAY you'll like it.
Apr 24, 2013

im very pleased with my knives and hatchets as well as the compasses and other survival gear ive purchesd. the one shot one kill knife and my boot knives are my favorite .there well built and hold a edge.
Apr 17, 2013

I purchased this knife as a buy one, get one free, and I am very pleased with the quality of the knife. Other from the fact the knife is dull but other knives I have ordered are the same and just need to be sharpened, I would recommend this knife to anyone
Apr 12, 2013

Mar 29, 2013

When I saw the price of this knife and the two fer, I just could not pass it up. Even at full price, a whole $19.99 when I bought mine, I would highly recommend this as an excellent back up blade. The full tang makes it strong and the edge is pretty fair for what I consider a low cost knife. I will, however, warn you about the saw edge, don't slip. This edge will rip through flesh before you know you've been cut. It is a VERY aggressive & sharp edge. Cost+Quality+Features, I have to give this unit a 5.
Mar 23, 2013

Great knife amazing balance. But not very sharp when I got it but it sharpens nicely. :) totally an awesome buy.
Mar 13, 2013

This is quite a value. Both of mine came sharp out of the box. Incredible balance and quality for the price.
Dec 01, 2012

I got this knife Friday! It is made very well, it's solid. The blade is very thick, it exceeded my expectations. So buy one, it's worth it.
Oct 26, 2012

Amazing. I just received this knife tonight...and wow. It is fantastic. The sheath is awesome, and I love the weight. Very solid. Just great. I can actually throw this like a regular throwing knife. BUY THIS!
Aug 12, 2012

Great knife!!!!! I love that the sheath is hard plastic rather than leather like all of my other knives. It is a must buy.
Jul 18, 2012

I bought a similar knife on Amazon. The only difference is that mine has the words "Bone Collector" on it instead of One Shot One Kill.Of all that is holy and of all the knives I have (and I am a collector) this knife seems like it was forged and created by a higher power.Anyways, this knife is just amazing.I tested the saw-back side on a stone rock and within 3-4 back and forth motions it went down about 2 inches. It has great weight, balance, and is completely sharp. The sheath is plastic yet holds the knife very securely.Buy this knife!!

Jun 29, 2012

Jun 27, 2012

What a fantastic Knife. I'm very impressed with the Knife quality and the Sheath.Could be sharper though.
Jun 19, 2012

really good knife. my favorite in my whole collection only it came amazingly dull. really hard to sharpen too but that means its a really tough blade. buy it now.
Jun 18, 2012

This knife is amazing. I put it through its tests, and it came out above all my other knives. It has a great heft to it, definitely weighted for chopping. After testing, the knife has some cosmetic damage, but it is still solid and daunting. I keep it on my belt at all times, and I feel invincible with it. Perfect for camping, hunting, and protecting yourself from muggers. They pull out a 6 inch switchblade, I pull out this, they just run. AMAZING KNIFE!!!
Jun 02, 2012

This knife has survived more abuse than i could've ever expected!! Never bends, breaks, or chips... (Even when dropped from a car at 75MPH) The blade shape is Ideal for camping because you can hack away at any tree/branch and not have to strain, due to inadequate strikes... The blade is easy to clean, and the handle is very comfortable! I just wish the knife came with a fire striker in the handle. STILL AN AMAZING KNIFE!!!
May 15, 2012

This knife is great. Very sturdy and feels good in your hand. Well balanced. Good intimidating look to it. This is my first knife I have purchased and I am very happy. It comes a little dull in the box but after sharpening it kicks a**.
Apr 24, 2012

Wow. This is an awesome knife. It's just like the description said it would be. The sawback feature is nasty! It looks like it could take down branches no problem. I'm going camping here soon and I can't wait to see what this thing can do! The sheath is pretty solid but looks a little flimsy. I'm being careful with it. It is dull out of the box, but as everyone says it can be sharpened. I would recommend this to everyone.
Feb 15, 2012

I love this knife! The blade is great. The sawback works well. The sheath is excellent. All together an excellent deal.
Feb 09, 2012

This knife is pretty good. Came in handy when I got trapped in some old roots while going through a ditch. The saw on it works wonders. Didn't come too sharp, but as said in previous reviews it is great after it's sharpened. Buy this knife you won't regret the decision I promise!
Feb 09, 2012

I love this knife. I bought my first one about a year ago, and it worked so well for me, I just bought another one. It was just as exciting opening the second one when it arrived at my door. I'm an avid camper, and experienced knife handler. I am thoroughly impressed with this knife ESPECIALLY for $20! Very balanced knife. It's hard to dull (though it came very dull, sharpen it up) and keeps an edge for quite a while. The back saw is INSANE! This thing competes with my machete! A+!
Feb 08, 2012

Great knife, I love it; could come sharper, but really nice when sharpened. All in all I suggest it to any body that likes knives.
Dec 16, 2011

Great knife, I have only had it for about a month but I constantly use it. I have ordered about 9 knives from budk and this is definitely the best!
Nov 11, 2011

This knife is awesome I use it for cutting everything, my only complaint is that it was dull and so was my other knife that I ordered with this one. Still a great knife once sharpened.
Oct 21, 2011

Sep 18, 2011

extremely awesome blade I've had it for 2 years know and I totally destroy knives and so far this one has held up the best. And the best part is how cheap it is. As you can tell by which city I'm from (more like village) I need a really good knife. Like this thing I've chopped down many many many trees with this sucker, but I have 2 things I hate about it. 1: it doesn't slide to cleanly out the sheath and 2: EVERY TIME I GO ON A BIKE RIDE WITH MY BUDS I NEVER GET TO USE IT. BECAUSE THERE ALWAYS FIGHTING FOR IT AND I END UP USING A GAY KNIFE :( LOL. So all in all BUY IT!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sep 17, 2011

Very cool knife! I was worried the case would be cheap but it was actually a nice hardned nylon one, also came with a cool belt strap in addition to the one already on the case. The knife came pretty sharp, enough to shred up the fexex box beyond repair, also the saw back on the knife was actually pretty cool. The one shot one kill motto and the S.O.G. symbol are a very nice addition. All in all very good buy, i plan on using this in the near future
Sep 16, 2011

Got this knife yesterday, after quick shipping. The knife itself is very well crafted, with a heavy duty stainless steel blade. The logo on the knife is incredibly well detailed. The handle fit my hand perfectly, although I did remove the cord from the grip. The knife has great balance to it as well. The sheath the knife comes with is molded and allows reversible placement. The belt loop also features a quick release system, so you don't have to take off your belt. All in all a great product. Definitely would recommend it.
Aug 18, 2011

The moment I held it I fell in love with it. The sheath holds it just a little too snug and its not full tang. The overall construction is great though and the buckles that hold it the knife and go around your belt are different. I recommend it.
Jun 25, 2011

when they say one shot one kill they mean it. I really like this knife not too crazy about the securing fastener nut other than that 1 of my favorites
Jun 25, 2011

I got this knife about 2 months ago, and then i would have given it 3 stars. Mine came so dull you could rub your lip with it and not feel pain at all! And I tried using a sharpener to edge it up to speed and it won't hold that strong of an edge. But then i took it on one of my little survivor man missions, and this can cut through trees like no tomorrow! I cut through a 6 inch thick tree with it with no problems, and then stripped it to waterproof my shelter. My razor sharp buck knife 119 couldn't do that.
Jun 14, 2011

This knife, right out of the box is amazing. the blade is very thick and seems very durable. the sawback is excellent and the whole knife is very well built. the only drawback to the entire knife is the fact that it does not draw very cleanly from the sheath, but for such an amazing price, you can buy an aftermarket sheath and you are still paying a fraction of what should be charged for this incredible knife.
Jun 12, 2011

This is one of my favorite knives from budk. It feels great in your hand and looks like a beast! haha Buy this now!
Jun 06, 2011

WOW. WOW. WOW. WOW. WOW. WOW. WOW. WOW. WOW. WOW. JUST GOT THIS KNIFE TODAY AND THAT WAS ALL I COULD SAY FOR FIVE MINUTES. THIS KNIFE IS JUST INCREDIBLE. LOVE THE SLOGAN(ONE SHOT-ONE KIL), REALLY WELL BALANCED(CAN THROW IT LIKE A REGULAR THROWING KNIFE, ONLY HEAVIER) LITTLE DULL OUT OF THE BOX(NOT A BIG DEAL) AND OVERALL A REALLY GREAT KNIFE. FOR PEOPLE READING THIS REVIEW TO JUDGE IF THEY SHOULD BUY IT OR NOT, THE ONLY ADVISE I CAN GIVE YOU IS TO BUY THIS NOW!!!
May 28, 2011

Own this knife for 2 months and it's been satisfied. Its size and weight allow it to be conceal carried. it comes sharp out of the box. Thickness of this blade enhance sturdiness. The saw-back, well, can saw wood but may take quite a bit of time. The plastic sheath fits the blade well although the three straps use to lock the handle are a bit complex than the push-button's. I conclude this a fine United Cutlery knife that is worth a consideration especially for its asking price!
May 27, 2011

this is a great knife. the grip is perfect, built very good. nice flow. I will be buying another one these
May 26, 2011

I just received this knife today, and I have to say this knife is worth more than it's sold for! It has a very nice blade that came pretty sharp. The handle is nice strong plastic that has a nice metal but. Only con is that the sheath scratches the blade but not that big of a deal! Overall amazing!!!
May 18, 2011

awesome knife! was completely satisfied with my order, and actually pretty impressed. i'm ordering another one as i type
May 12, 2011

LOVE THIS KNIFE! I picked this thing up because of all the good reviews, and I would have to agree. This knife is very sturdy, and the black blade is so sleek looking. It is very well made by United Cutlery. It's well worth the twenty dollars it costs.
May 04, 2011

what an awesome knife! i received it in the mail today and haven't stopped carrying it all day. The feel of it is very comfortable and the sheath is of good quality. I would recommend this knife to all who go into survival situations or are just looking for a great knife. The blade is very durable, however isn't super sharp coming out of the box. That is my only complaint, I want sharper. The pictures on this site do not do the knife justice. Buy it to see how awesome it really is.
May 01, 2011

This knife is incredible and more than worth the price! It is elegant and terrifying wrapped into one well crafted, flawlessly designed package. The blade comes quite sharp with a row of thick teeth on the back end which saw through wood very well (for a knife). The sheath is strong plastic and nearly impossible to break with ordinary - and a little 'un'ordinary - wear and tear. The mechanisms that lock the blade in the sheath and secure it to your belt are very simple but surprisingly effective. You just can't pull it apart!
Apr 06, 2011

I honestly know nothing about how a knife should be, or a sheath for a knife. What I do know is that I just received this knife today (with sheath) and I've got to say that it's decent quality for both the sheath and knife. I read some previous reviews about how the sheath is bad, but I think it's a good idea for it to be plastic. If it gets dirty you can just clean it. It seems pretty sturdy. I do wish there was a locking mechanism for the bottom part of the handle on the knife on the sheath that way it doesn't just swing loosely.
Apr 04, 2011

This knife is the best one I've gotten. Ever! I don't know why people said it was not balanced, because I can throw it just like a regular throwing knife, just heavier. It's sheath is really, really nice, and you will want to have it on you all the time. I'd be careful what kind of sharpener you use though, because if you use the ceramic and metal wheel sharpener, you can scratch up the paint really bad. But it will hold an edge really well too. Hope this was helpful.
Feb 23, 2011

This knife is too good for the price.I got it today and i am soo happy with it.Sharp but not razor sharp.GET IT!!Dont think about it!
Feb 10, 2011

Feb 05, 2011

First knife purchase from this website. Astounding quality, sharp blade straight from box, nice sheath (although I bought an after market leather sheath to fit my needs), and the size is huge! I thought it was big but it is absolutely HUGE! All-in-all PERFECT knife for the price. (Looking at other websites it runs for 35-50$.)
Feb 01, 2011

This knife is very sharp when you first take it out of the box and I would recommend this knife to anybody who collects knives.
Jan 29, 2011

YES. OH YES. This is a great knife. I bought this knife because I wanted to start trying to practice some stuff from a survival book that I got for Christmas a few years ago. When I looked at this, all the 5-star reviews, and all the positive things people were saying about it, I was thinking, THIS IS IT.
Jan 27, 2011

This thing has to be one of the best blades I've purchased for under thirty dollars. It didn't come sharpened, which is okay since it's a survival knife and doesn't have to be razor sharp to do it's job. The blade itself is perfect thickness but has an uneven edge. I'm not worried since that could be easily fixed with a sharpening stone or tool. The handle is perfectly shaped and seemed to conform to every contour of my hand. The sheath isn't the greatest quality for my tastes but it does its job, so I can't complain. Overall, this knife is a great survival tool for those who like big bowie blades with modern styles.
Jan 18, 2011

I received my knife today, I was highly surprised at the quality of both the knife and sheath! It's got some weight to it, and the sheath holds it tightly in place. Great knife for the money!! I have yet to find one nicer (for any price). Highly Recommended.
Jan 04, 2011

I received this knife yesterday and i'm already in love with it. Its razor sharp right out of the box. I put it to my first test which is to see if it can shave the hairs off my arm and it passed with flying colors........It's a must buy especially for the reasonable price!!!!!!!!!!!
Dec 21, 2010

this knife is amazing... every time i look at it it amazes me at the look and i feel so warm and fuzzy in side that i got such a wonderful knife for only 20... thanks Budk
Dec 19, 2010

I received this knife a few days ago, and I really enjoy using it. It is very sharp, and is very handy around the house, the sheath is very well done, and I love that satisfying feeling and sound when I draw my knife, and put it back. It is somewhat heavy, but light compared to other knives, and I do not think it will break on me in my lifetime (partly because I am too afraid to put it to the test lol) my point is, very nice buy, and I do not regret one bit with my purchase, and for the price of 20 dollars,...why the h*** not? Editor's Note: Thank you for your comments. We have updated the review to reflect the appropriate materials.
Nov 08, 2010

I have to give the folks at BUDK a hand. I was shocked at the quality of this knife for the low price. Service was the best. The attention to detail in the way my knife was packed was first class. I would highly recommend BUDK to anybody.
Nov 05, 2010

I've been an avid collector of knives for 13 years and let me just say- I was thrilled from the moment I pulled this one from the box. Very well built and solid feel to it, I can't wait to take it out for further testing to see what it can handle.
Oct 30, 2010

I got my knife today and so far I love it. I will be putting it through more intense testing soon but I believe the knife will kick anus all the way!
Oct 05, 2010

AWSOME KNIFE!!! smaller then you would think but its well put together and has a nice point, not as sharp as i would like but still worth the money and a 5/5.
Aug 23, 2014

Nov 29, 2013

This knife is very sturdy. It has a decent edge when you first get it. This is stainless steel not any carbon or Damascus. It is a great knife for the price. The blade is very thick. The serrated back edge can do a little too however should not be the reason you this knife. Good knife. Highly recommended especially for $20.
Oct 06, 2013

I've always considered United Cuttery a fairly solid brand. The One Shot One Kill knife fits solidly into that opinion. It has a good look and feel to it. The grip is comfortable with decent weight distribution. The sheath is a good fit for the knife and the belt loop accomodates most belt sizes. The edge on the knife was dull when it came in and needed considerable work, especially at the point. The size and weight give it somewhat limited applications; too small and light for most hacking and too large for light work. All in all, it's a good general purpose knife. A good value for the price.
Sep 02, 2013

I was hoping that it wouldn't be dull as other reviewers had warned, but it was. I liked the weight & feel of the blade, so before I decided to put the effort into sharpening it, I gave it a little stress test by beating it up. It held up to me throwing it (don't recommend doing that too much, weight is unbalanced) hacking at logs & using the saw back to see if it'd be of any use at all & it held up & functioned, though I would only use the saw for thin branches & what not. Worked well dull so its a keeper in my book, especially for only 20 bucks, give the knife a shot, I'm sure it won't disappoint.
Aug 23, 2013

A good knife comes a little dull but no biggy, one thing to check out is take an Allen wrench to the bottom and take it apart and u will realize that it is not fixed to the handle which could cause issues if u intend to chop, but besides that it wood be a good hunting knife.
Jul 21, 2013

Great knife for the price. Didn't have an edge when I got it thou, It sure does now.
May 19, 2013

Apr 24, 2013

Also got this as a BOGO and for the low price of $19.95 you get one heck of a knife! A thick durable blade with a nice curved edge and it just feels great in the hand. I had it sharpened at the local tactical shop and the man was very impressed himself with what I got for the money spent. Well I don't have to tell you how nice it is now that it is razor sharp. Slices through a full water bottle like butter and the saw back is very sharp right out of the box. All I can say is another winner, and considering what you get for the money I give it 5 star in the value and quality of the blade. The only drawback was the sheath. No way to quick draw this one.It could be better. Too cumbersome trying to unfasten it. I think I can alter it to my satisfaction with just a few adjustments though. But on the bright side I don't suppose you would have to worry about the blade coming out while climbing and such. Overall I am going to give this one a 4 star just due to the sheath, but the blade is a solid 5 and I would recommend this knife to anyone looking to get a great heavy duty survival knife.
Apr 24, 2013

Apr 05, 2013

I got this knife a little while back and was very amazed with the edge it was razor sharp the handle is very strong and they have fixed the belt loop it is much stronger, it would beat my ka-bar if the steal was carbon but the steel it has is still very good i definatly recommend getting this knife.
Mar 13, 2013

I was very excited to see this knife in the buy one get one special back in 2012. However, I missed the deal that day and waited until Febuary this year for the same deal. It is a great knife and I ordered 11 of them to get 11 free. The knife itself is depended on the stock piece you get because some knives I received had flaws in them like faded paint or uneven sawback. But the knives were very sharp. In fact, I cut myself while I was trying to clean one. Sharp knife! Also here in WV ONE SHOT ONE KILL is considered very intimidating slogan which is why I got so many as gifts. BUY IT!

I was dissatisfied in the sharpness of the blade the edge was rolled. It took alot of work but it finally sharpened up.over all the balance and feel of the knife is good and very sturdy I think overall its a good buy

This knife was well made, I like the leg strap idea. The hard sheath sure can take a beating, but the belt connector came lose off the plastic. After some rope threaded back together it was good as new. As well as the serrations being done excellently, The blade stood up to much hacking thanks to that wicked curve. There is a cheaper version of this blade though, called the Elite Forces Bowie Knife.

This is a very good knife. My handle came loose after a few months but the blade's strength more than makes up for it.

Knife quality is excellent. Knife came ready to go and was a bit dull which was understandable. Saw back is pretty functional but if you are using this for outdoor survival I think a camp axe of sog fasthawk is much easier and more energy efficient. Blade design is very ergonomic which is also a plus. The sheath could use some minor tweaks. I noticed while hiking that both clasps that hold the knife to the belt and hold the knife into the sheath did not perform at all so I had to use the string that it comes with and tie it to my belt loop. Overall to spend $27 on this knife is a deal!!!!

I got this knife a few months ago and I've liked it ever since. It would have gotten five stars but the edge on the top of the clip point wouldn't cut melted butter and is very difficult to sharpen but over all it is a great buy and i would recommend it to any one who is looking for a quality knife.

its a nice durable blade but the sheath falls off the belt strap and the handle on mine has 2 cracks already... reasonably sharp, over all not to bad.

This Knife is ok!!!! Love it!!!!!! The Only Thing That I Don't Like Is The Plastic Handie, My Knife Handie Has Large Cracks On The Bottom,It Scare Me If The Handie Break Off! It A Great Knife! Just Bad Plastic Handie!

Nice looking knife but it needs more weight in the handle. I won't use this for any real cutting simply because I'd be concerned for its' ruggedness when working on a hard target. For just a little more you could run the blade all the way through. I'd be willing to pay for that durability.

the blade on this knife is great quality, durable, heavy, thick.But..,the handle is completely useless..i was out side cutting some brush off of a tree the was cut down so we could use it as firewood and the handle first cracked and i thought it was fine then about 5 minutes later the handle completely snapped.thats when i realized it also wasnt full tang, yes the metal runs all the way through the knife but there is a rat weld about 1 inch into the handle

I have had this knife for around 2yrs. Actual blade is made of very hard steel and very thick, in fact it was difficult finding a sharpener that would make a dent, files work best. Black covering stays on moderately well, wears off where it rubs on the sheath or if scratched. Saw back is difficult to clean, sharpen, and too short to use effectively. Works great for big tasks like hacking branches and pumpkins, would also crush some bone. The sheath is most impressive, worth the $20 alone. The blade can become loose from the Handel, but the nut at the bottom can be tightened solving the problem. It is my outdoor and beater fixed blade. It hacks better than cuts.

Well this knife is ok... but it definitely has it's flaws! Pros: Looks cool thick blade saw on back of blade Cons: blade is of poor material finish will wear handle is not very comfortable will not sharpen well due to thickness of blade and the way they made it Rat tail tang (rat tail tang means they welded on a peice of metal to make it have a "full" tang) over all it is a cool blade to have that is fun to use on an occasion but definitely not for a survival knife. If you are looking for a good survival knife look around more for something that fits to what you will be doing.

The knife looks impressive in the box. The sheath was coming apart when it arrived, and the keeper at the top of the belt loop did not seem secure, so I did some super-gluing to fix both problems. The sheath is now functional, and the knife can be inserted either way. I took the knife apart and confirmed that it only as a partial tang, that is tensioned to the butt cap with an allen-head female screw. The handle does have a hole to accept the tang bolt, but is mostly solid plastic. I put some Lok-Tite on the screw and put it back together tight, as if you were chopping with the knife the allen screw would probably work loose eventually. I tried putting a shaving sharp edge on this knife with my Worksharp and it never got there. This tells me the steel is too soft, and of low quality. This knife may work for beating around the bush, But I wouldn't bet your life on it. It has been relegated to the saddle bag of my Harley Davidson - for emergency use only! If it gets stolen or breaks, we will only be out $20. You do get what you pay for with this knife.

The knife overall is super. The cord on the handle had to go. The scabbard is great, the clasp is very secure.(its pressed nylon, not plastic.) I got down on the bogo sale and am very haappy I did. The knife was already on my wish list so when I saw buy one get one (bogo) I was like "add to cart" it came with a bad point or tip on both, no big deal I can add one. It came on time according to the ups tracker. The rating got 3/5 because of no tip. Like I said over all the knife is super. I have been ordering from Bud K for more then 10 years. I will be ordering from Bud K for a lot longer. All the M48 gear is great!!!!

Considering price the knife is ok, screw in handle was loose so grip was loose when I went to tighten it the screw sriped. Don't care for the handle strap on sheath, could have been better quality. Blade is awesome quality.

This knife is a cool blade and very druable, but the edge it came with was downright horrible, I have worked for months on it edge and it still doesnt have the razor edge I want, I was going to carry this for self-defense but I wouldnt trust my life with it.

I liked the Fact that the knife had a hard sheath unlike all my other knives, but the thing that put this knife out of action was the knife wouldn't sharpen other than that I have no other complaints. I'm a former Marine so I like being out doors and the saw back on this knife was simply amazing! It passed my feild test with eaz.

its a really good knife but it does have its flaws i dropped mine and the handle broke but other than that its a good knife
Mar 10, 2012

Knife has good weight and though dull on delivery sharpens well. Handle is cheap and slippery. Tennis racket tape or the like makes it much more manageable. Overall good for the price.

I bought this knife having much higher expectations for it. Don't get me wrong, it's a good knife! However, they send it to you extremely dull and it's hard to sharpen; also, sheath is total crap. I do get a lot of use out of it though. It is a decent knife, just don't expect top of the line performance. You definitely get what you pay for.
Nov 13, 2011

This knife is really cool but its not full tang and the handle is plastic so it cracked on me. The handle loosens sometimes and the knife comes very dull(easy fixes). The serrations are great though.
Aug 11, 2011

This knife came very dull, it's really hard to sharpen and it's not full tang. I slipped on a rock and it hit the rock and the handle cracked all the way down on both sides. Other than that great knife for batoning and cutting down trees.
Jul 15, 2011

this is a really good knife for the price u will be hard pressed to find a knife of equal quality for the same amount of doe. Now some things i didn't like, didn't come very sharp but that's an easy fix, its not a full tang blade, and the cord and sheath is junk. Just spend 20 bucks or less and get some new cord and a better sheath and U WILL get more than your moneys worth out of this trust me!
Feb 16, 2011

This knife is great for the price but a few things I don't like about it. Its not full tang, mine didn't come very sharp but not too hard to fix. Its extremely unbalanced and the handle feels like cheap plastic. Probably pretty durable however, I haven't tested it out yet but it seems like it can pack a punch.
Jun 29, 2014

Has a heavy blade, good for chopping kindling. The handle is weak. I broke chunks out of it on the top of handle, right behind the hand guard. It is also difficult to put a decent edge on the back half of the blade

I bought this knife a while back, at first it was fine but after a while of putting it to work it became very loose. You are able to tighten the screw on the bottom but I find it a hassle to do it every time you use it. My advice is buy a full tang knife instead.

I read the reviews and saw the videos on this knife so decided to pick one up. The sheath is well-fitting and the knife inserts both ways, which is nice. However, it is a poor design, as the belt loop is not continuous and could easily be dislodged and you would lose the knife and sheath. I super-glued the belt loop connector so this won't happen, and also had to super-glue the belt loop strap to the sheath body as it was falling apart coming out of the box. Once you repair this sheath, it is serviceable. The knife is good-looking and fits well in the hand. It arrived dull and I could not put a razor edge on it with my Worksharp, which quickly puts a razor's edge on knives with good-quality steel. This tells me the steel in this knife is soft, and of poor quality. It did get sharp enough to work as a bush-beater. The saw teeth on the back of the blade work well for filing a wide groove in branches, to tie things onto, but you would be hours trying to saw through a 2" branch with this thing. I took the handle apart and put lock-tite on the tang threads and re-assembled. Otherwise the handle would probably loosen up with use. The plastic handle is hollow, but mostly solid - the hole in the handle is relatively small, so overall the knife is fairly sturdy. I would not throw this knife except in an emergency. I ended up stashing the knife in the saddlebag of my motorcycle. It is stainless steel, so probably won't rust in my lifetime. It is also lighter than a full tang knife of the same size, so would be comfortable for belt carry. For $20, this is not a bad beater knife, but be prepared to work on the sheath and don't expect razor sharpness!
