Awesome tool
I have had mine for 11 years and it's still going strong . A few catalogs back , I seen a bigger version I would like to purchase that one as well.

Great Tool
Great can-opener, and sooooooo cheap. You could even buy lots and put them in campers and camping kits. I loved mine: super sharp, durable and portable. I have had no problems so far.

Great EDC
Pretty ugly and pretty basic, but this is one item I would not leave the house without.

Just get one
This tool is invaluable for those that have a bug out bag or any kind of survival interest. I carry one in my pocket every day, because you never know when you will get stranded somewhere with just cans of food around. Don't even think about buying it, just do it.

P38 ON STEROIDS
This is the ultimate tool for your bug-out bag. Much larger and easier to handle than the original P38. Buy several and give to your friends and put one on your key ring. I wouldn't go anywhere with out one.

Great compact can opener
Bought this for my Go-bag, everyone needs to get this for theirs. Such a compact & useful tool.

Do you mean P38?
It's named P-38 NOT P-51. The reason is it takes 38 strokes to open the standard ration can. Don't leave home w/o one!

Need sharpening before use
When I tried using one of these I ended up bending it. I didn't check the blade before using it and it was kind of dull. I had to resort to poking through the can with a knife and then finishing with the P-51. For the price, I can't complain too much, but my advice is to give the blade some sharpening before giving it a go. Would buy more

Not Bad
They appear a little flimsy but yhey have stood up well to my tests and I couldn't argue with the price. Nice addition to my hiking pack.

Not "real", but it kinda works.
I bought this thinking this was the real deal, because in the picture it said "US" on it. Sadly, they were not genuine, but they did work as long as you are careful not to bend them with too much pressure. I still prefer the real p-38's to these though.

Can of boiled peanuts was tougher than the opener
This is not up to par of what I used as a young man in the bush. It looks the same, but it is grossly inferior metal. The first time using it it bent like "Gumby", I had to use my combat knife to open the cans to feed my party while camping. You'll go hungry without a back up plan.

cheap generic p51 and not as pictured
Who knows, maybe the others who bought this on this site got the real thing, but I didn't, unless theirs bends and has no sharpness to the blade what so ever. -After sharpening the blade and hammering the thing straight, it seems to work right. -People call it the p51 because it's exactly 51mm long, mines 53.0352mm. The blade on mine didn't snap open either it fell open at a 95* degree angle. -Mine didn't have the US SHELBY CO Theres no writing on it at all. The moral of this story is, if you get a P51 like mine and this is all you have for a can opener and your life depends on it you will die.
