Customer Reviews
I've had mine for about a year and a half and it's still great. I use my knives and swords really rough to see if there can take a beating, I'm surprised this one has lasted this long, I got mine off budk for $8. My friend really wants one but I am not willing to part with it. I can't find this knife anywhere for a reasonable price.
great knife i bought one for my dad awhile back it comes pretty dull but does sharpen up nicely i would highly recommend this knife it was bigger than i pictured it when i ordered but he loved it great knife only down side once sharpened it cuts right through the case so be careful on that part
I bought two of these knives recently, just because of the awesome price tag. Well, I beat the hell out of one in every way I could. If this knife had a $40 price tag, I'd still buy it. Definitely an outstanding buy!
You can't find a blade for $10 as good as this one, I LOVE IT!! Chopped down an 8 inch thick tree with one just to see if I could. Had to clean the sap off, which was a pain, but didn't harm the blade.
This is an awesome buy! The grip feels great. It is very sturdy. The sheath is very nice. I can't wait to stick a pig with it!
This is the best hunting knife I have ever had! Sharp right out of the box! And what a great nylon sheath, thick and sturdy! It's a great buy. Thanks BUDK!
Very nice sturdy bowie. I use this on my fishing kayak for bait and fish. Great for medium to light duty work. No slip handle makes it easy to grip. Takes an edge very well with a cheap stone. Nice large and reliable bowie for the price. Just buy one and you will not be disappointed.
I have a few of these not as sharp out of the box as i would like, but i can sharpen them up no problem. For the price i don't see a down side, I tryed to brake this knife very hard to do...
It was extremely dull out of the box, except for the serrated edge which could saw a dinosaur in half if you tried! With some sharpening, I have but one problem: it's very light. For most, it's good for something to be heavy, but I like my gear solid, rugged, and heavy and though it's very reliable (especially for the price), it feels like I'm holding a toy rather than a bowie. RECAP: you'll have to sharpen it, feels like a toy, saws through dinosaurs, excellent knife for ten dollars. BUY IT!
This knife is the best product I bought from budk. The blade is really sharp and deadly. The grip had a rubbery feeling that makes the knife easy to hold. The pommel on the bottom is really neat and gives the blade an extra WOW feature.
I love the pig sticker knife. It's worth the 10$ and 5 stars. It came sharp and the serrated edge is also sharp. However, after about 2 months of use the blade got wobbly from the handle but it is easily repaired with epoxy and the case also became broken when the stitching came un-stitched. but that's also easily repairable. But overall great knife I still have it and its still sharp. I recommend this item completely.
Have wanted this one for 4 years and it was well worth waiting for. This knife is very well put together. Surprisingly light for the size and it that "wow" affect when you pull it out of the sheath. I am very pleased with this knife and would suggest it to anyone. Thanks for the great price BUDK!
The Pig Sticker! The name is just awesome. For ten dollars you are getting an amazing knife. Although it is not full tang it still feels like it can stop a tank. If you are looking for an inexpensive BIG bowie, the pig sticker is the way to go!
AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME. Both sheath and the knife are very well made and strong. The only inperfection is that the blade tilts about 1-2 degrees to the left. I don't think that even matters.
For ten dollars this knife will complete your wildest desires! When I took my son boar hunting, he was wielding a pig sticker bowie knife. He never even complained once of it weight... but when it comes to killing foul muddy infectious swine I've never seen anything better in all my days of pig hunting. The grip on this knife is so genuine and the blade completes the never failing beauty of this masterpiece. Its weight is more in the butt of the knife due to the nub on the handle. The only flaw I have with this is that I didn't buy more for the wife and other kids! Yours truly the best swine demeanor in the state of the south!
Under 10$, you CAN"T go wrong! Very solid, comfortable grip feels great in hand. I have collected knives for 39 years and this IS a very good buy, I'm impressed with this knife.
Just got this knife today. feels very solid, and takes a razor edge very easily. It came pretty sharp but had to sharpen it to my standards. the sheath is nice as well. The pommel on mine is not loose nor does it come loose. If the zombie apocolypse ever comes, and you run out of bullets, this is the knife to carry. I'll probably buy a few more just to have them.
Got this from a friend for Christmas and I LOVE IT!!!! I can't wait to hunt with it. This knife is AMAZING. The blade felt sharp but it's not as sharp as I would like but that's fixed quickly. A great knife for any knife collector or hunter. I'd recommend it to any of my friends.
I got the knife as a gift in 06 when it was called "the freedom knife". it was a good sharp knife out of the box and it had a good sheath. the handle is prone to have some problems such as the factory weld for the handle stud. My knife broke 2 months ago but it lasted me all those years it was a good knife.
Excellent price for a Great Bowie. The bowie is solid and feels great. The handle is excellent, solid grip. The blade is not the sharpest but the raw power this huge blade can give suffices. The serrations are great part of it too, sharp! The bottom of the pommel has a point and that can do some damage too. Great for ANY outdoor adventure. Be smart and buy one!
It's refreshing to see what $10 will buy you these days. I bought several different bowies and stickers for my hog-hunting friends. This one is probably the one I will keep for me! A really nice hunk of metal with good balance.
Good knife and sheath. Does not come sharp but takes an edge quickly. Serrations on back are nice and sharp.
I received this knife, today, four days after ordering it. I was very pleased with the knife and sheath that has a plastic liner. It has a very comfortable grip. The blade was reasonably sharp and the serrations could cut about anything if you need to saw through a branch or bones of an animal. The knife is plenty sturdy for general use in the forest and for self protection against man or beast! Lookout Bigfoot, don't mess with me! Great knife for the price. Buy it, you'll like it.
ok...first off...this thing should be 25$ it is well made and is light...as well..i would get this thing if i were you...=P
Now this is an awesome knife! Its HUGE! and very solidly made. I would recommend this totally you wont be disappointed. Editor's Note: Thank you for your comments. We have updated the review to reflect the appropriate spelling.
I purchased this as a gift for a friend. It arrived at my house today, and I couldn't resist test-wielding it... I am so amazed I think I'll have to buy one for myself... I mean, it's less than ten bucks, and is possibly the most amazing knife I've ever seen.
This is an awesome well made knife. This WAY MORE then I expected for the Price. I bought two of them. It is well Balanced I sharpened it. It is a good Knife all the way around and GET THIS while they are still in stock.
dang, i must say, this is by far one of my favorite knives of all time, although it does come apart rather easily, tightening it is just as easy, and it is huge! it just makes you feel so dominant when you hold it, great for show or use, or both.
Awesome knife! Great feel and balance and all I needed was to touch up the edge with a stone. I was afraid this one was gonna be really heavy, but its not. The balance edge is right in front of the guard. This is the knife you should get to impress your friends and scare the crap out of everyone else!
This thing is BEASTLY!!! I cant find one bad thing to say about this knife.<br />I love the logo on the knife, it has a perfect weight, the sheath is nice and I loooove the grip.<br />I also like how it has serations on the top of the blade.<br />...PLUS ITS HUGE<br />900000/5!!!
so yeah this knife just came in the mail no longer than an hour ago and i just had to share my thoughts with everybody out there looking. this knife is amazing. it seems to be very heavy duty and good grip too. when you hold it you feel like you could do anything. if you need a knife or just want one i would 100% recommend this to anyone.
I agree with both of the guys below me. This knife is an extended Alabama Slammer without the bayonet ring, but I found that the glass breaker on the bottom holds the handle tight and comes undone, but is easily tightened. You can't beat the price. Don't get me wrong, it's a good buy, but you could take this knife apart pretty easily if you wanted to. It's bigger than the Alabama Slammer, but not quite as solid.
Just like the Alabama Slammer without the bayonet & has 2 extra inches of blade. Very thick. I love it.
OMG, i just got this from fed ex and i am amazed, great quality knife BUY ONE!!!!<br /><br />i did a review on youtube, so copy and paste the url below<br /><br /><br />http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x4YuuEyWCAY<br /><br /><br /><br />5 stars! <br /><br />NOW GET OFF YOUR BUTT AND BUY ONE!!!
WOW, the perfect BFK! (Big [email protected]#king Knife) 10" blade, overall 15", sharp. what more can you ask for. worth more than what you pay. could buy for 10 and sell for 25 or more.
WOW! That is all I can say is WOW! This knife came super sharp and is an excellent product! It has a nice grip and is really long! The knife from top to bottom is 16 inches! This is a great buy and I would recommend it to everyone!
I just got this blade and... My god, its fantastic, I think that the picture needs to be updated so it will show just how big this blade is, (Its as long as my forearm!) The grip is fine, the blade itself is nice and smooth, perfectly formed... and with the help of the Accusharp... its cutting anything it touches ^-^
I bought 2 of these knives a few weeks ago. AS for it being made in China that's not a big deal at all. In fact when I pulled them out of the boxes they both have close to a razor edge on them. And the serrated edge on the back of the blade is very impressive . The only problems I see with these knives are the sheaths. The belt loop is to big and there isn't a lanyard hole on the bottom to tie it to your leg and every time I would pull the knives out of the sheaths the saw/ serrated edge catches on the sheath. But besides that I would recommend these knife to my friends and family.. Thanks Bud-K. I will be buying more of these.
Overall I am very satisfied. Handle feels good for med to large hands. Sheath is great. Blade may not have been uniformly sharpened, but you can hone your skills by doing it yourself. If you want to start collecting knives, start by getting this one.
This is a very well made knife, and the handle is very tight. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the fact that the blade is going to need grinding before I can give it a proper sharpness. It's no big deal, as a friend of mine has a grinding wheel that he uses to sharpen his axe with, and is going to do it for me.I'm going to do some programming on his P.C.while he straightens, and sharpens it for me.All things said this is a very good knife, and I would recommend it to anybody that needs a good knife to head out to the woods to get to their favorite fishing spot.
Stainless is a little weak as far as steel quality goes, but it takes an edge easily and I don't feel guilty destroying it doing something stupid. :P For $10 its all you can ask for!
Awesome knife! Feels almost too light but the balance is great and the steel took a razor edge with little work. The sheath was decent. I bought this as a birthday gift for a friend but after handling it, I kept it for myself.
It is huge! I didnt expect it to be tihs big. which is the only reason that i dont like it. Some advice: acually take a tape measure and measure out fifteen inches to see how big it really will be. but it is pretty sharp, so that is good.
Just got this knife in the mail about and hour a go and i gotta say it much lighter than i thought it to be. Despite its lightness the thing that impressed me most was the pummle, it didnt look to sturdy so i gave it a few whacks to some split logs out back and it retaind it shape. So all in all for the price this is a pretty badass fighting knife, i would trust me life with it some where out in the woods, but if the situation arose for CQC i wouldnt be to bad.
The pigsticker is a very good quality knife.Blade is razorsharp and the sheath is put together well.Over all id recomend this knife to a friend.
I bought this knife about two years back, and it still works great for what it was designed to do: Look awesome. It is intimidating and cool to mess around with, especially with the price, but I can't say that it is a "workman's bowie". It is not full tang. I took it apart and put some lock-tite on the screw part that is connected to the blade, and then screwed on the nut as firmly as I could. It doesn't rattle or anything like that, but its just not going to have the durability of a full-tang. Overall, it looks awesome and will get minor cutting jobs done, but I am not sure if I would get it if you want a rigid, durable bowie that will take abuse.
On the surface it is a good knife for the price although it has gone up $3 since I bought it. As it turns out the handle well is just horrible! Handle cover resembles a black water hose and for some reason sticks but not in a good way but in a yucky uncomfortable way. You can remedy this by wratting paracord around the grip I guess. Still not a bad deal even at the current price!
this knife is sweet, i love it. its light, sharp, and a long blade. i cant wait to go hog hintin with it. ther is only 2 bad things about it. 1: the metal is week i stabed my dresser and wen i went to pull the blade out it bent the tip. i used my ballpin hammer to straighten it out so no harm done. 2: if u wer to hold it by the handel with one hand and use the other to push it from the back that lil knob on the back stabs ur hand so i have no choice but to use one hand with this blade or stab my hand. but other than that its flawless. worth every penny.
i have had the knife for a while now but its hard to keep an edge on it for very long cause of the 440 stainless steel but it does not come very sharp and after i did sharpen it it started wearing the sheath out until i started using it its not balanced as well as i would like the serrations on the back i have yet to find a use for cause its such a short area on it and like the other reviews mine has not come loose nor can i unscrew mine at the handle overall its a pretty good knife and oh ya its HUGE i feel like rambo carrying it around
I really love this knife. I wanted a rather large knife for home or personal defense or camping. When I hold this knife I feel confident that it will hold up to anything I want to do with it. I have no complaints. I recently sharpened it and the 440 steel is so hard it took several hours to get it razor sharp, but a knife this big doesn't need to be razor sharp really. I also like how it will come apart at the handle. Good for hunting use when you want to make sure to be able to clean all of the blood off for health issues.
There is no reason you should listen to me, but there is no reason for you to spend your money on a poorly made piece of junk. I constantly had to strew in the bottom so that the blade would not fall off! And the blade couldn't hold a edge no matter what I did! There was a reason I did not bring it boar hunting! I dropped it while walking in the woods and it broke when it hit the ground! My advice to you is just save up for a K-BAR knife! At least a K-BAR will not break after a three foot drop!
