Product Description
A very popular revolver for its time, the model 1851 Navy revolver was adopted by both the US and British military and, received its name from the depiction on the cylinder of the Texas Navy’s victory over the Mexican fleet in 1843. Our Replica 1851 Navy Black Powder Pistol has a casehardened steel frame is .36 caliber and has a 7 1/2" barrel length.
Great reproduction. I own this and the 1858 remington. The 1851 in the .36 caliber is enjoyable to shoot. The only issue I have had is to replace the trigger spring after 2 years. That spring is only a few dollars. If you want a great reproduction of the 1851 navy get the .36 caliber as that is the original caliber. If you want a .44 caliber, go with the 1858 old army. I got both from here and have been 100% satisfied.

Great replica, for the price.
Initial impression out of the box was good. Was covered in like a chainsaw, chain lube that will need wiped off. Just like every Italian replica they will need some tlc out of the box, pietta, or uberti. They both have their flaws. Imo the piettas are more functional out of the box, but mine did need a need hammer. Due to it being casehardened badly, the cam got wiped out by the bolt legs. Also had to file/sand down the forcing cone for proper cylinder to forcing cone gap. Make sure you order some spare wear parts as you will need them. But is overall a great buy. Mine is actually made from 3 different piettas of 3 different years. 2020, 2007, and 1989. Its my Tuco special. But just goes to show how universal these piettas are. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to get into black powder.

A great weapon, and great quality
As the times go, ammo seems to be going through the roof. Not with this fine pistol. The comment before me said it all, except for 1 thing. When things go south, and SHTF, People will eventually run out of ammo. Not with this quality piece. You can buy the .36 cal lead balls for really cheap, as well as the powder. Just make sure you follow the instructions and recommended loading and it's a winner in my book. Highly accurate. Make sure to always keep your black powder weapons clean and oiled. This is a weapon that can be passed down thru generations. And it's not expensive to shoot, and it is a BLAST!!! No pun intended, and yes I definitely would recommend this product.

All Hail The Equalizer!
This is the finest weapon I have ever owned, and, the best weapon ever made, bar none. The quality is without precedent, it exudes power, performance, utility, and elegance all in one beauteous package. I would call it the Holy Grail of firearms and weaponry, to put it quite simply. You will never find a gun more reliable, more dependable, more precise, and better functioning than the Colt 1851 Navy Revolver. It is a marvel and masterpiece of modern weapons engineering, from the Golden Age of American Manufacturing, no less. Aiming down the sights has never felt so precise, so decisive, so absolutely satisfying. To call the weapon an extension of one's self would be a gross understatement, as it feels more akin to an augementation to one's benefit. Any man can become a great shootist, with this gun in hand. It will reward your patience and due diligence in its loading, with results that prove and satisfy and amaze. I love it and will treasure it as an heirloom for my own children.
Thank you Budk, Pietta and E.M.F. Company Incorporated for this wonderful weapon. I am exceedingly grateful. To Mr. Samuel Colt and his seed, forever!
