This was my first sword-cane, and it looks beautiful, is sturdy, and actually got some weight to it. My only complaint is that the blade itself is incredibly short, even shorter than the pictures show. It also wasn't as sharp as I had expected.
Great Cane with Sword. Head is shaped for a nice grip that can be used as a weapon for striking. Sword is easily drawn but needs sharpening. At 37" it fits very well and I use it every day. It has become my favorite cane.
Hey this is a great cane for the price. Sturdy. Blade can be sharpened. For those who say they "can't get it out in time"-lol-if you feel inside the cane there are metal "nubs" that need to just be sawed off with use. To make it easier until that happens, I put olive oil around the screw in threads. Like a lubricant. It DOES help. I expect that eventually I will have NO problem getting this thing out of its shaft and into wherever it needs to go in an emergency.
When I opened the box the cane was in a plastic bag and secured by zip ties to the box which was a good sign to me. It is a very well made piece. I used my Dremel to give the blade a razor edge and sharper point right off. For use as a defensive weapon this cane is perfect.
Look, for twenty dollars you can't beat this. The shaft is metal. The head is solid. Even without the last ditch sword this is worth more than twenty dollars. The sword isn't a sword it's a dagger but for a last ditch thruster it works out very well. Just sharpen it up and your good to go. This thing is perfect height for me at 5'10". Great defense cane. If you need to knock some heads or throat punch someone the head will take it.
