  • 22 1/8" stainless steel blade
  • Hardwood handle with brass spacers
  • Includes leather scabbard

For hundreds of years the Roman Coliseum echoed with the sounds of clashing swords and the screams of the dying and the triumphant. Prisoners from conquered lands, criminals, persecuted Christians, and professional warriors...all competed in savage battles to satisfy the bloodlust of the Roman mob and provide for its daily amusement. This sword would have been right at home in such a violent place! Patterned after the gladius used by Roman soldiers, this piece measures 30 3/4" overall and offers a 22 1/8" stainless steel blade with two massive blood grooves. This sword features a hardwood handle accented with brass spacers and includes genuine leather sheath. Great item for the historical collector!

Not ad at all for the price. The blade actually has a sharp point and a bit of an edge to it. The leather sheath is nice and well made. Would recommend it to a friend.

It's not full tang and is very easy to take apart, not good for running around hitting stuff like I do lol but a great display peice

Roman Gladius Sword Reviewed by holydiver on Dec 17, 2011   4 out of 5

I have wanted this sword for awhile, when it was $39.99. But when it dropped to $19.99, I knew it was time to get it. I really just wanted it as a model for making Roman style handles. This is not a bad sword for not being full tang. The handle tightens up nice, leaving the blade tight. A Pakistan made blade, it is thick and solid. For 19 bucks, it's probably a 5 star, but I will not give any sword that is not full tang that high of a score, thus the 4 star rating. But I am really pleased with it. BudK has nice stuff. You just have to make sure you know what you are about to get. Also, this sword comes un-sharpened, but that is not a problem for me.

Perfect Groomsmen gift, or for best man Reviewed by [email protected] on Sep 06, 2011   5 out of 5

Well, I bought this sword for my two best men (don't ask) + the cavalry sword for my groomsmen - all 7 of them. This sword says it all. It's not a cheesy flask, it's not a useless knife, it is a completely memorable gift and it won't break the bank. It looks great, the sheath is an off orange, it is plastic but it's still awesome.

Very pleased with item received and fits well with period of BC/AD and complements our Roman costume for the time of the birth of Christ
