"I set up two Tatami mats for cutting practice using the Shikoto Touchstone Katana and Wakizashi. I made eight cuts on the first mat with the Katana and performed seven cuts on the second mat with the Wakizashi. These weapons handle very well. They are very capable examples and are superior to most others at this price range. The fit and finish is excellent. Money well spent. I will now search for a Shikoto Touchstone Tanto to complete the set."
"This sword is absolutely gorgeous to look at. I was just so happy to finally get it in the mail. The positives first; this instrument is MUCH lighter than I anticipated. I was extremely shocked at the weight and balance of this sword. Handle fittings are all tight and smooth with the ito wrapping just fantastic. I’m unfortunately giving it 4 stars for only two reasons: 1. My blade isn’t that sharp. I did the “out of the box” paper test and the paper bent and barely broke the edge. While I understand for safety reasons shipping something with a razor sharp edge isn’t practical, it’s nowhere near the sharpness it should be. 2. My blade rattles in the saya and essentially falls out of it as if the Habaki and mouth of the saya don’t fit together."
"I got my sword today and I open the box to see a beautiful silk bag I remove bag took the in my left hand and my thumb I try to pull the sword with my right hand it was stuck it took me laying it down on a table and pulling with force very carefully not to cut myself so after removed I notice plastic paper on the sword so I thought that must be the problem so I removed the paper put sword back in the scabbard try remove it once again and was as hard to remove from the as before I was totally disappointed the look and feel are great but who wants to have a katana that get stuck in the scabbard"
