Better Than a Fidget Spinner, and Infinitely More Persuasive
"This is a splendid bit of practical theater. The Night Watchman Blackthorn Shillelagh feels exactly as it should: substantial without being cumbersome, reassuring without being absurd, and far more satisfying in the hand than a handkerchief. Not so heavy that it becomes a chore on a walk, but not so light that it feels decorative. The knurled shaft is genuinely excellent, giving a confident grip without requiring a white-knuckled relationship with the thing. It has that rare quality of seeming purpose-built rather than merely product-designed. I carry it on evening walks with my German Shepherd, who is, in my admittedly biased judgment, a magnificent ambassador of goodwill. Some neighbors have not yet arrived at this conclusion. The shillelagh provides a useful social cue."
