well i got this because it was a survival kit and a fire starter in one....well i thought it was in one. They are actually separate with no way to pack them together and the mag stick isn't to great. I would recommend the United Cutlery mag stick and making your own kit from their.

If you think items fit inside the handle, they don't. And the compass is not on the end of the stricker. Is the fire stricker good? Yes, its as good as you are going to find anywhere. Not unhappy but really purchased it thinking it all fit into one.

Picked up this bad boy on a whim because I've always liked the Smith & Wesson name. First thing I will say is this, the picture is in fact misleading. It made me think the compass was in fact inside the handle, it is not, it is a separate button compass. It's all good though still. Now it is true you can find a fire striker elsewhere (including here) for cheaper, this ad doesn't exactly give the specifics on the fire striker itself. What you get is 2inches in length and 1/4inch thickness. If you've ever bought a normal one with the scraping side, the striker you get is 3inches in length and 3/16inch thickness. Now I'm not the greatest at math but to me, it seems like you get more with this Smith & Wesson one, not much more, but more. Next, it comes with the button compass which seems good and the little survival kit much like you'd find inside a survival knife. Although, the kit included here appears to be of much better quality than what you usually get. The little metal striker even seems to be bett
