"I want to start by saying I really like it. It's pretty solid and doesn't feel like it's super cheap. That being said it's definitely not a $1000 katana either. The only thing I'm sad about is that the first image makes it look like it has a great and authentic hamon line and it's definitely imitation. Or at least it looks that way to me. Somebody else mentioned that it doesn't have a bohi and they are correct. But it is high carbon steel. It does feel solid. I don't think that it would break the first time I swung it at something. It is also definitely pretty sharp. Overall I'm happy with it. Truly. My only gripe would be that the hamon line looks more authentic in the picture, which I kind of felt like borderline on false advertising, but I'm probably a little naive for thinking that it would be authentic at this price point."

Best F'ing blade I bought so far!

"This is my first sokojikara blade and straight out the box it is sharp and without a brace I stood the box and sliced it with a glorious perfect cut. Handle is tight and perfectly wrapped. The only downside was the bamboo pins . . . Someone put a janky pin in and busted a piece. Outside of that this purple Oni demon katana is the game."

"A very beautiful blade, my second katana from budk. Contrary to the 6th image however, it does not have a bo-hi. If you're looking for a heavier katana to cut with, go for this one."

This Sword is No Joke

"I highly anticipated the arrival of what looked like a very nice sword. I was not disappointed. You can tell the swordmaker of my blade had alot of experience, the sword was near flawless. The only flaw was a deep scratch, almost dead center on the left side of the blade, about 1/4 inch long, probably the finisher, definitely not the bladmaker, dude was too proud of his work. The blade is seriously sharp, and has a beautiful hamon. Very well balanced also, about 4 inches of the tsuba. Unbelievable to get a decent katana at this price. The only other issue is it came in a cardboard "Shinwa" box. What's up with that? Other than that oversight, it's a great deal, couldn't be happier."

"I bought a blood dragon with a dragon on the scabbard and red tsuka wrap.Don't think it's for sale any more ? I also have a golden crain and the joker katanas.All great,I have munetoshi,s,hanwei,musashi,hsts,ryumon,ryujin and these sokojikara,s very good.I had some trouble with my first purchase on the joker katana but budk customer service came through and I got my replacement befor Christmas thank you budk customer service!.I have bought swords from budk and the quality and never been let down,have also bouthe shinwa,and united black swords also good.I will again buy in the future from budk Thanks again budk Ray Blundell"
