My First Purchase From Budk, perhaps my last Reviewed by Dennis on Apr 23, 2014   1 out of 5

Junk! Sold as a thrower. Threw it once, softly and it broke. Now I wonder if I will ever buy another item from Budk. How do I get my money back.

Not acceptable Reviewed by Luke on Mar 18, 2014   1 out of 5

This tomahawk came out of the box basically broken. The head of the axe was slightly loose, and there was a sizable glob of dry glue where the handle meets the axe. Since it didn't appear that the head would simply fall off, I decided to try throwing it (since I was dying to try a tomahawk for the first time). Being a fairly well experienced knife thrower, I was able to stick it on the first throw... Which left the handle at a good 45 degree angle from the axe head. I didn't try it again, fearing it would whip off of the handle and hit me. Needless to say, I was very disappointed and BudK will certainly hear from me. Don't buy this. Oh, and it doesn't have the more ornate look you see in the picture. It's very plain, and not worth the $13 I spent, even if I meant to use it for display only.

The Budget-Budget Hawk Reviewed by Carlos on Feb 19, 2014   2 out of 5

I got this "Throwing Axe" (though it's clearly a tomahawk) expecting lower than average quality for the price, and that's basically what I got. The hawk does NOT come with a sheathe, but it should be expected as it never mentions there is a sheathe. The blade came a bit dull, but it was sharp immediately after a quick run with my honing steel made it sharp enough to cut my finger by running it along the surface. The wood is nice, though the coat is a bit bunched up at the seam of the head, creating an annoying "Bubble" that, with some effort, can be sanded out. The handle does not come with a grip carving, so the picture is lying to you there. Also, it feels great in my hand, and has near perfect weight distribution. All of this was fine, but then I started noticing the bad parts. The head is actually bent slightly, at least on mine. When holding it up to my face, the spike does not align properly with the beak, which is really bad. It isn't much, probably a 4 degree bend, but it's there. Also, the beak is warped, and looking down at the blade reveals that the actual blade part of the beak is not consistent all the way down, which is huge. The wood is slightly warped, too, which can make holding it a bit strange farther down the handle. This was fairly disappointing, but it was very cheap to begin with. I will give it a low rating, but the price may just make it work for you. These problems may have also simply been a defect, but better safe than sorry.
