My first sword arrive my first sword arrived with the handle being messed up.It looked like they took a damaged one and hand painted The silk screening on. I was told they were all like that and was willing to take a second chance on another. Not sure why that was being passed off as brand new but nonetheless the second one I received was brand new. Thank you bud K for making everything easy.

Amazing! YES!
Elrond is my favorite character of all time, so when I saw him wield this sword in Dol Guldur in the 3rd Hobbit movie, I knew I had to have it. It appears in at least 4 scenes: 1. The Fellowship of the Ring, wielded by Elrond during the Last Alliance battle, 2. Held by Arwen as she rescues Frodo, 3. At Elrond's side in Unexpected Journey when he returns to Rivendell, and 4. Wielded by Elrond in combat at Dol Guldur in The Battle of 5 Armies. I read all the reviews on Amazon before buying this here. United Cutlery sells it themselves on Amazon for $100 more, and if you wait for a Budk free shipping day, the price is impossible to beat. I checked everywhere. The sword is simply magnificent. Some reviewers complained that the gold paint on the blade is a little bit outside the etching in some places. This didn't bother me, it's barely noticeable. Some people also complained that it's a little heavy, and balanced more toward the front (the balance point is just above that notch you see about 1/4 of the way up the blade). However, as a wikipedia entry pointed out, it's modeled after a calvary saber and is meant to be used on horseback, so both its weight and its balance are actually accurate. The blade is all steel. Not sharp enough to cut you just from touching it, but sharp enough that it would do some real damage if you applied force. This is perfect. The handle and the stand are all wood, just the way you'd want them. If you're a fan of Arwen, Elrond, LOTR, or just cool swords, you'll love this. I am now displaying it very prominently in my home, and you will too. Order and shipping were fast and no hassle. This is my first sword from UC or BUDK, and I'll probably buy more.

Awesome!
I just got this sword and it's absolutely awesome.. Like the other review said it's not perfect as almost no sword is at this price but it's really nice.. The wood handle is really nice and feels great in you're hand.. The size and weight are really nice.. Best of all.. MY SWORD CAME SHARPENED.. I've never received a U.C. sword that was actually this sharp.. Most are false edged. It's not razor sharp but it's definitely way sharper than any other LOTR sword I have.. Very cool.. Highly recommend!!. BUDK IS AWESOME!!!

Detailing not the best
The detail on the blade was not painted as well as United Cutley has done in the past, a bit sloppy on the elvish lettering. This is a very hard sword to find though, so Bud K came through in that respect. Very nice overall though.
