I got my knife the other day and I'm very pleased. Razor sharp, I shaved the hair on my arm. Thick and heavy.nice handle and sheath. I accidentally grabed the blade for a deep nasty cut. If your thinking about buying this do it. Great knife. Stay Bladed!
I've been researching fixed blade knives for quite a while, and looking to get one for personal carry both during bushcraft/camping and general work on our land. I've always liked the look and features of this knife, and when the price dropped I grabbed one. I must say I'm very impressed. Clipped to my belt the knife is almost unnoticeable weather I'm hiking or jumping in and out of a car; the Kydex sheath holds it high and the handle feels thin and unnoticeable against my body. When using the knife it feels strong and hefty with the Micarta style handles providing a sure grip. I've been using it constantly (in the kitchen as well to help me get used to it's feel) and really appreciate the tanto style blade as the angle in it provides an excellent slicing edge without needing serration or use of the point. The sheath is outstanding and I don't foresee any problems with the provided belt clip, which could be easily swapped out if ever there were a problem. It connects to my belt so securely I've never once been worried about it coming off when I didn't want it to. The sheath is also a corrosion proof material that locks the knife securely into place. It's had a nice edge since I took it out of the box and hasn't needed to be sharpened yet. One of the reasons I tried out this knife beside the incredible price was the size. Many people complain of the Ka-bar Becker knives being too large to carry comfortably for everyday use, not to mention the price involved in ordering a 3rd party Kydex sheath and Micarta grips. While I love the design of the BK2 and BK10, after spending all of that money I'd hate finding out that it was just "too much knife" before stuffing it in some drawer to be forgotten about. I don't foresee that happening with this knife, and after having paid less that $15 I'm thrilled with the bargain it has been.
This knife feels amazing. It's very sharp out of the box and the sheath is very sturdy and fits well to the knife. This is definitely worth picking up!
Don't let the price fool you. This is a serious knife! I was really impressed when I pulled this knife from its sheath. It is a 3/16 thick and heavy full tang blade of beautifully stonewashed stainless steel. It is well constructed with a solid, non-slip haft and has good overall balance. The design includes an oversized finger groove with deep file work on the spine to ensure the thumb won't slip. The sharpened tanto blade is perfectly shaped for deep armor piercing. While the sheath is well designed molded ABS which holds the knife securely, my only concern would be the belt clip. It's heavy-duty enough in itself, but it is only secured on one side. I fear it may bend causing the sheath to hold the knife at an odd angle on the belt. Don't let this deter you, though! As a boot knife, this would be a spectacular purchase!
Wow; Got more than I expected with this blade! Excellent quality. Full Tang; with a heavy metal belt clip. Blade locks into ABS sheath with a resounding snap, and locks into place. Excellent grip---Military Quality ! Way to Go, BUDK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is a great all around, inexpensive, use for anything, beat the heck out of everyday kind of knife. Hefty, sharp out of the box, it possesses a slim yet functional handle that provides ample blade control without being overly bulky. What really makes this one a top notch standout though, is its' sheath. It's molded from a single piece of tough material with grommets and a clip bolted on via two torx head screws. There is no concern of failing stitches or degrading leather. The knife slips into the sheath and locks solidly in via a compression point in its' design. (and I mean solidly; would not hesitate to carry it on a pack inverted). The way this knife snaps into it's sheath and the clip device's upward bent tab make it a great grab and go item, as the bent tab digs in to material and holds on, allowing the user to pull the knife free easily, not be concerned with losing it and, easily just grab it and clip it with confidence to anything with the thickness of a jean pocket or better. Some areas in need of improvement: The textured handles needed a little tightening, out of the box they were a bit loose (quick work with an allen wrench, NP). Due to the solid nature of the sheath, there is a noise/rattle issue (less an issue when clipped to a pocket). Where the blade comes out of the sheath there exists a hollow area that is a natural grab point for the careless removing the knife while holding the sheath and will result in a nasty cut and probably a lasting finger scar. Be careful. (No, I did not manage aforementioned blunder, but can easily see how someone could) As for longevity, points of concern are two; the clip, which is subject to many metallic elastic bends, and the sheaths' compression point. Trivial concerns, but present nonetheless. I can't see either of those things happening in anything other than a long period of time and heavy use. So, IMHO, it's a 3.5 star knife and a 4.8 star sheath.
