Very good purchase

"Addendum to my previous review - I've been suggesting an electric chainsaw to my brother for a couple of years now. He has always "shot down" those suggestions via stating "not enough power" and "not fast enough cutting. " Well, between the two of us we now have a brush pile worthy of being used as a bonfire. My brother even bought a sharpening system for it. That purchase by my brother told me he had fully accepted the saw as a worthwhile purchase. He has also ceased talking "bad" about electric chainsaws. What more can I say??? Probably nothing worthwhile."

Good purchase

"I got this because I needed a trim saw, and was tired of coordinating my efforts with friends and family who owned chainsaws. I'm pleased overall. It's lightweight. It performs well within its limitations (it's only a twelve inch bar, after all). The batteries last sufficiently long, and there's two in the kit so you don't have to stop in the middle of a job for recharging. All good things. There were a couple of issues. I had to keep retightening the chain. My assessment of that is because the chain was brand new and needed to get work stretched - so fair enough. The other inconvenience is that the guard and handle can't be left on when putting the saw back in the case. No big deal, but it would have been nice to recase the saw without removing those pieces. There is one big thing that I flat don't like. The automatic chain oiler is a constant drip method. This isn't unknown among chainsaws, but it's a feature I really don't like because the dripping starts when you fill the reservoir and doesn't stop until it's empty. That means if you set the saw down for a few minutes, you get a small puddle of oil under it. It also means you have to fill the reservoir every single time you use it. Check it? Sure. Fill it every use? Not so good. Don't like drip oilers. Overall, I'm pleased, and I think it will continue to work well for me - so, 4 stars."
