Piercing, stabbing, slicing, hacking; desert, jungles, mountains, sea - for the USMC Devil Dog Combat Dagger, there's no job too tough to tackle and no conditions too harsh to overcome. Like a United States Marine, this officially licensed fixed blade is a master of all tasks, environments and terrains - truly a must-have for any serious warrior, survivalist, prepper, outdoorsman or knife enthusiast. From the razor sharp 7" AUS-6 stainless steel tanto blade to the remarkably durable no-slip rubberized handle, every feature is carefully engineered to make the Devil Dog one of the most advanced combat daggers available at any price, anywhere. The tanto blade is exceptionally versatile, with a piercing point, skillfully honed edge, potent double-serrated spine and nonreflective black coating. Affording a stylish contrast to the blade's dark black finish, "Release the Hounds of Hell" is finely laser etched below the spine in white, along with "Devil Dog," "United States Marine Corps" and the iconic USMC seal. The Devil Dog's rubberized handle is delicately textured and ergonomically contoured, providing a comfortable, delightfully tactile wielding experience that is second to none. At 12" long, the Devil Dog is amply sized for practically any cutting task - from everyday jobs around the house or farm to demanding field work deep in remote back country. Its robust profile doesn't equal unwieldiness, however, as the Devil Dog is impeccably balanced and features multiple convenient transport and/or tethering options, including a durable ABS sheath and lanyards tied to the pommel and sheath tip. With all these incredible features and rock solid construction to boot, the officially licensed USMC Devil Dog Combat Dagger outpaces fixed blade knives at three and four times its price. Simply put, it's the best. Why look elsewhere? Save money, time and grief spent wrestling with an inferior knife - add the Devil Dog to your collection today!

Good for fighting, not much else. Reviewed by on Jul 08, 2018   2 out of 5

I got two of these in two various grab bag purchases. Just yesterday from when I'm writing this, I tried using one on a camping trip to baton some wood. I knew the rat tail tang was not the sturdiest configuration, but even with that, simple batoning for such a heavy blade should hardly be considered "abuse." Despite this, within the first log I tried to split with it, the tang fractured, and a chunk of plastic broke out of the handle. Thankfully, it didn't shatter violently, so no injuries to report, but I would not advise using this as a survival knife. If my experience is any indication, than it simply doesn't have the durability to go through anything substantially harder than flesh. It does have nice ergonomics, and a good balance for striking, but the serrations on the spine are more stylistic than practical, and as previously stated, it is not durable enough to perform in hostile environments. In short, it does not live up to its description. I would not trust this knife to see me through another camping trip in a NH State Park, let alone see me through combat in the jungle. I suppose I could find use for it in urban combat as a fighting knife, under the hypothetical scenario that I was going to be put into such a battle, and if you're just looking for a low-cost weapon, this one may be the best in its class. But it's still in its class, so bear that in mind if you buy this. Overall, two stars. Might have given three if the description were more honest, but frankly, I think two is generous given what happened to mine. Most knife snobs who'd see that would give it a zero, but I can still see a purpose for this thing, so I'll not go that low.

I got this in a grab bag deal. The blade is thick and the engraving is deep. The blade is heavy enough to chop wood, but it has a rat tail tang. It is to thick to really slice or cut well and the "double-serrated spine" seems designed specifically To not cut. It feels like a heavy spear head on an ultra-lightweight knife handle. Probably great for stabbing at or poking stuff.
