Great blade

"Been wanting to buy a good katana for a while and found this for a decent price, so i snapped it up. The reddish black blade was an added bonus. If you want a nice simple blade, I highly recommend this one"

Excellent Class Of Tactical Blades For The Price!!!

"Im into collecting or stocking Tactical equipment better way of putting it. Not really into swords, but when i seen these I just have to have them, one of each size, and style. Its like when a woman sees shoes, shes got to have them. Well thats exactly me when it comes to tactical equipment. These swords took me to the top level of tactical ready!! They came razor sharpe, they will shave the hair from arms, well oiled, not a blemish anywhere. Now ive got all the sliver stainless blades, bow i must have the black blades. But my next buy is the damascus blade, AND I CANT WAIT!!! But Great Job BUDKs, you got a long time customer!!!"

Truly, what I call tactical

"This sword is a beast. It has the weight and rigidity for abuse."

Boshin daisho Hai!

"I have both the Honshu Boshin Katana and Wakazashi. (2 of the Wakazashi). They are excellent modern representatives of the class. I use one Wak for actual cutting and liked it so much I now have the full daisho. Happy am I. Duomo arigatou gozaimasu."

Well Made with a few flaws....

"I have over 20yrs in the arts and here's my review...Overall it's well made. 1060 is great steel however mine did not come sharp...had a very weak edge but I fixed easily to a razors edge being 1060 sharpens well. The blade itself is thicker and heavier then I would normally like but it is well balanced for a sword it's size and weight. This is a fully functional battle ready sword but is not a daily swinger due to its weight to weight ratio unless you are extremely muscular in the arms. Overall it's a $120 sword with a great solid build and tactical feel. Only real flaw is the barley sharp edge."

My favorite sword, but...

"This sword is hands down my go-to blade. I absolutely love it. There is one fatal flaw though, and it has nothing to do with the sword itself; it's the scabbard. Whoever designed it really dropped the ball. It's really loose and the blade rattles around like crazy. Anyone would be able to hear you approaching from a mile away. It can easily fall out. With the way it sits, if you were to slip it into your belt, it rides so high that the pommel would touch your collar bone. You pretty much have to get a different scabbard for this one"

Not sharp at all

"Over-all an amazing blade. Two things 1. Not sharp at all 2. Big ole china written at the base of the blade. Other than that. Feels amazing in my hand. Scabbard is really cool. Has some heft to it. Love the finish on it. Would recommend but be ready to sharpen it."

Not sharp at all

"Over all build is great the saya is amazing but the blade grind was horrible , I spent more than 3 hours with a metal file to put a better profile, then a series of diamond stones to really bring the edge out . The fit n finish is wonderful, easy to draw and to line back up for liado, overall it’s amazing for the price"

Good Steel. Nice Build. Just a BEAST in Weight

"First, United did very well to go with well tempered 1060 on this one. I also was not turned off by the rubberized handle when I got it. The rubber is more plastic with a little give. There was a slight play that could be felt inside the handle when swinging but given it is likely compressing slightly it made sense. I didn't mind. It came sharp but not razor. It was functionally sharp for a sword. Where this falls short is weight. Katanas are meant to be more tip heavy then most middle age European swords but this is much more tip heavy then other well made katanas I've held. I noted there is NOT DISTAL TAPER. This is as thick on the end as it is near the handle and it feels like it. It's like swinging a crowbar...only much cooler. With two hands it's still quite weild-able, just like a crow bar is weild-able. It's certainly good for a beater if you think the zombies are coming, the slow moving ones....Romero zombies and not the new fast running ones. If you know what you're getting then go for it, it seems to be good steel and is well built, just not crafted to be an actual good functioning sword. I'm keeping mine tucked away for now. I may hit the belt sander with it and put in a distal taper so it feels like an actual katana one day."
