These are very well designed and manufactured to a high standard. They are great to use against other polypropylene weapons and bucklers, shields, and can also stand up to striking edges of wooden shields that have protective edging. If they are used versus rebated steel weapons or unedged steel shields they will divot and begin to degrade over time. That's normal with such weapons as this is the expected limitation, if you want to fight steel, use steel. For training, these are superb and are aptly a little heavier perhaps than steel for building arm strength and stamina. The grip is well sized. I'm very happy with these swords and will hand them to students for lessons. The point of balance seems to be about 10 inches from the crossguard, so it's tip heavy (as it's fairly thick) and can give a hell of a clonk. Wear padding (or armour) as a proper blow will hurt or injure. Compare my steel training blade with 5.5 from the cross-guard or my sharp Leutrit (replica) that's coming in at 6 inches. So the 10 inch POB will force the wielder to build forearm strength and point control, and traversing back to a more hilt weighted weapon will accentuate what has been learned. I'm very happy with these.
