Product Description
From master designer Gil Hibben comes the Hibben Sub Hilt Toothpick knife, featuring a 10 7/8" 5Cr15 stainless steel blade. The stainless steel construction continues onto the guard and sub hilt, surrounded by a black pakkawood handle. A hefty pommel completes the design.
Received this beauty quite quick everything was great. Blade needed a bit of an extra edge absolutely beauty. I take it everywhere with me cause and it's a real head turner. Always getting asked where I got it and how much

Great security blanket when hiking
I carry this knife when hiking in the Smokies. With wild boar and bear in the woods, I wanted a big knife. Ran into a mama black with two cubs a month ago and was glad I had it as a security blanket and last line of defense. I have found the quality is very good.

A couple inches shy of a Gladius
large "knife", it feels like a short sword, a couple inches shy of a Gladius in your hand. balance is decent and handles nicely.

Beefy modern day combat dagger.
Love it! It is a very nice modern-day combat dagger. Usually, I don't like threaded pommels with a nut because they can come loose and need tightening up. But, it wasn't meant for chopping trees, it was only meant for combat, so it most likely will stay tight. Beautiful looking blade. I love it!

Great Knife ...but...
It looked nicer in the catalog. Not as polished as the picture suggested. Blade is just a wee bit wider than I expected. All that being said, I got a pair of them and was not disappointed.

questionable quality
I received the product quickly. This knife is much larger than I assumed, yet surprisingly well balanced and easy to wield with either hand. There is just a very slight warp to the blade, and the front wooden piece of the handle was split all the way through the top portion of the handle. I'm not going to hog on the blade and abuse it, so I just poured crazy glue into the crack until it filled up. I won't go through the hassle of returning the item.

Gil Hibben Sub Hilt Toothpick
Just received my Toothpick, it is very well made, will Shave you right out of the box with lower Blade. Upper Blade had to be sharpened with my Bavarian Edge knife sharpener for about 10 minutes then it also was brought up to the same level. Very easy to do ! If you see anyone criticizing this knife for any reason! THEY are the problem and probably too lazy to put a good edge on a knife and wouldn't be satisfied if you gave them a Gold Ring with it when purchased. ! BUY IT ! It's another must have for me. ! Thanks again BUDK !

The Best!!
Like all Hibben knives. I am very happy with it. I bought another brand knife to compare quality. It was 4 four times as expensive as my Hibben but Nowhere as well made. Last money they're going to get from me. Hibben quality design and performance just can't be beat.

Very impressed!
I'm a fan of Hibben knives and I've never been disappointed with any that I've purchased. I knew I was getting a nice knife when I ordered this one, but once it arrived, it exceeded my expectations. As another reviewer commented, the pictures don't do it justice! This thing is big and wicked-looking, but has great balance and feels great in the hand. It came sharp, and the leather sheath is very nice. Can't recommend this enough!

I'm Impressed
I don't usually leave reviews unless I'm really impressed with what I've purchased or really disappointed. The Gil Hibben Sub Hilt Toothpick knife is a great buy at this price. Really nice knife. You can smell the genuine leather sheath when opening the box. Can't think of a single negative thing. Great service from Bud K. Hold this knife in your hands and you too will be impressed!!

Beautiful efficient design
Well designed and balanced. Nice fit and finish. I was surprised by the actual finish of the knife. It seems to have a silver powder coating on all metal surfaces. Over all great design and value.

Pictures don't do it justice
First and foremost the pics don't do this knife justice it's much beefier then they make it look which I like, the Handle feels good in my hand especially since I have rather large hands and still have room between the pommel and sub hilt, the blade is decently sharp not shaving sharp like I'd like but I can fix that myself, and last but not least I love the sheath for it's simple yet functional design.
Overall just like all Hiibben Knives it's a masterpiece.

Wow!
Just got this fine looking blade today. Looks so awesome feels good in the hand nice sheath. Put a thin coat of oil on it as soon as I got it. Bottom edge razor sharp. Top edge not so much will need to be worked on for that sharper edge. And as far as I can see that was the only draw back. But for the price would recommend. 5 out of 5. Thanks Mr. Hibben and BudK.

Sub Hilt Knife
Most guys love a sub hilt knife, add a long slender toothpick blade and you have one" Mother Loving Knife". This knife comes very sharp and sturdy, the Black Micarta handle is a sure grip and quite nice. The entire knife is a thing of beauty. Look out Bears and Wolves Gil Hibben knives are on the loose, and this is one knife that will get the job done. Thank you Mr. Hibben and BudK.

Beautiful piece
Love this blade. So sleek and feels just right. I love the extra finger guard, it adds a little extra to the knife. THe satin finish is perfect. The edge is hair splitting sharp right out of the box. I could go on about this one but it leaves me a bit speechless.

Nice but could be better
This is a large knife that is comfortable in the hand. My only issue is the fit and finish of the handel. That can be fixed with a belt sander.

BIG knife!
Sharp on 1 side only, easily sharpens both sides. First Gil Hibben knife. Finger grooves give a great grip, balanced very well.

love it
I have been into knives my whole life and I am 69 years. For the bucks or any amount of bucks this is a really great knife. I am however only giving 4 stars as the knife IS NOT sharp as otherwise stated, I did take care of the problem but other than that, looks, balance etc I LOVE IT.

Cool knife But...
Really neat looking toothpick/trench knife, but the fit and finish isn't as nice as other Hibben knives out there.
The handle grip is very large and would be great for someone with large hands, but is still comfortable. I have another Hibben knife, and the difference in the finish is night and day between that blade and this one. This trench knife is not polished, and the handle is painted in a matte finish which doesn't really do the wood grain justice, which is a shame. Also the joins between the scales and the handguard are not as smooth as the other Hibben blade I own.
I was also a bit disappointed when it arrived with only one side sharpened. The backside of the blade is completely dull, which makes sense for safety reasons, but is a bit misleading as it looks like it would be sharp. This knife is definitely not a "utility knife" as it is a half tang with a welded-on rat tail inside the handle that the pommel nut screws on to, so I wouldn't expect it to hold up to any abuse like beating on logs or wood.
I'm not disappointed with my purchase, and it is still a nice, cool looking blade by all accounts; however I wouldn't suggest paying more than $60 for it. Wait for the next sale if you're considering grabbing yourself one.

Warped
The knife is nice other that the warped blade and the top handle piece isn't fit correctly
