"mortar, minor disappointment"

I read the reviews and purchased it anyway. It did not really look as featured I wanted it that bad. It looks ok once put together and the more I look at it the moreI like it. It is a pity it was not made in America, maybe the qaulity could have better.

mortar canon

i now own two of the mortars, when i got my first one i realized it was a lighter. what i did was drill out the tube to the size of the mortar round, insert a small piece of wood in the bottom of the tube and have a several inch length of stiff wire coming out of the tube. i drilled the bottom of the mortar round to fit on the wire and put a cotton ball between the round and the tube. it looks just like the round was fired and on its way to the bad guys!!!!!

Nice, Hard-to-Find Item

I didn't seek, nor expect, a cigarette lighter so I am completely satisfied. It is a very nice memento of a veteran's service, especially a mortarman - 0341.

Not functional

My brother bought me one of these and one for himself. We could not figure out why there was a slide switch on it. It appeared to have a function that was missing. Today while surfing a Hong Kong site, I descovered that this is supposed to be a cigarette lighter. Evidentally, the mechanisms were never installed. It is cute but incomplete.
