good deal for price
I purchased these for my 01 yamaha vstar 650. I could only use the saddle bags and the lower from fork bag under the blinkers. I thought the sissy bar bag would be nice but didn't like how the one strap wrapped around the cushion, and even went as far as to remove the pad and try running the strap between the bar and pad, but that didn't work. I plan on custom making mounting system to mount it, but haven't taken the time to yet. I don't have a windshield, so the windshield bag is out. There's a big bag to mount on rear seat to strap to sissy bar that'd be great if I go on vacation, but haven't went on vacation yet, so.... The backpack is nice, but maybe a little small. They definitely want you to know it's "genuine buffalo leather" because the tag is on everything! IMHO it looks kinda pleathery to me, but it's gotta be "genuine buffalo leather" cause the tags say so. I'm pleased with the purchase. They are great for the price. Don't buy this if your expecting some great high quality, only put it on $50,000 bikes, because that's not their purpose. If your looking for a good value set of bags, you aren't going to find a better deal. The saddle bags tie on the supports. This is my first set of saddle bags, so I don't know if this is normal, but it took a while tying everything up, then wrapped the loose ends with electrical tape to keep them from flapping in the wind. Won't be taking them off any time soon. There are rain covers to cover the saddle bags, but it hasn't rained yet to test, so I can't give a comment on how effective they are. All in all, I'd buy them again. I don't think they would hold 2 gallons of milk in each side, but they do hold a 6 pack of 16 oz cans of soda (yeah soda, that's it) with room to spare.
