Product Description
This is an authentic replica of the military spec tomahawk issued to U.S. troops during the Vietnam War. These tomahawks were issued to be close quarters, last ditch weapons for hooking attacks.
ok, first off the package came way sooner than expected, second the back spike on the back rocks! its also balanced for throwing(if you are into that like i am) and even if you didn't throw it it would be great for defense as well as a hatchet ( though not on large logs, all in all great tool

BLACK VIETNAM TOMAHAWK
R.E Comment from ANG, Honolulu. In a month or two I will be coming into enough disposable (toy-buying)cash to purchase several of these. Like you, I own a SOG and a few Cold Steel Hawks but I see this one as ideal. I know of no commercial handles or sheaths to meet the needs outlined in your post, however, I have used a Mag--Lite belt ring for carrying hawks of all kinds and am satisfied for the $4 cost of the ring. The handle could be easily fashioned out of aluminum and welded in place or cross-bolted. Hope this helps. Editor's Note: Thank you for your comments. We have updated the review to reflect the appropriate spelling.

Era Gone By
Use some 'Common Sense'. I know this flower doesn't grow in everyone's garden, but just tryit out for once. These 'Hawks' are for Close Quarters Fighting...not for throwing 15'-20'. Take into account, that if I threw you that far 10-12 times with considerable force, with you not being designed for that...You'd break too. I was in the Marine Corps, distances of 50yds or more, use your rifle, 50yds or less, use your sidearm, arms length...use anything you have on you, being preferably my trusty Kabar, but given the chance to infliict considerable mass slashing flesh rendering tomahawk in the left and Kabar in the right giving equal chances for making a scoring hit. Main Point Being...Throwing is fun, but don't abuse what may just save your ass some day.

Universal tool
This is a universal tool. A good all around camp tool; good for prepping wood for campfires, digging a stuck tent stake out, even prying open a stuck container. Also a good weapon with a balanced chopping action and good for throwing. I have had handles on axes and hammers break before, but you can always replace this one with a fiberglass handle if you want....

Longer handle please
Please make this handle 5-6 inches longer for modern Americans. At least a way to buy a longer handle to fit in it. Other wise a nice utility hatchet.

Vietnam Tomahawk
"This Vietnam Tomahawk is a great buy for the price. I bought several a few years ago, but have not seen it available at Bud K for a number of years. The original Cold Steel model is great, but this one is a small fraction of its cost. It is one tough mother of a tomahawk and I hate to be on the receiving end of one or two (used dually). I rather be the one doing the chopping. I like to see this same tomahawk designed with a longer handle (about 6 longer) and with a better designed sheath that will allow quick one step access for this to be a truly quick access fighting tomahawk system. Any takers to upgrade this tomahawk? Let me know. I'll buy it."""

i wish
I deffinately think that this would be a much better hatchet with a longer handle so you could have the option for a one or two handed swing. that'd make it much more versatile and make me want to purchase it.

Toy
bought this figuring since it wasnt meant for zombie survival it might be decent. Its purpose for myself was to be used for cutting small limbs to clear trail and to provide timber for a small 1 man cooking fire. I was out on 1 week hunting trip in the boonies alone caught in a blizzard so heavy trees were falling blocking every route along with weighing pine limbs down a good 10'. i cut maybe 10 limb bases aprroximately 4" or less in diameter or less and the epoxy bond broke. thankfully i had a folding shovel and a large bowie knife or i may have been screwed. buy it to toy with, not to rely on, the price should of told me that but hey.

buyer beware
I bought this as a thrower and it broke after about ten throws. I would not recommend this product. I do recommend BudK because they are taking very good care of me since I am unhappy with this product.
