These are excellent knives with performance way out of proportion to their cost. The steel is responsible for that performance. It is high carbon, pretty close to the premier steels of the era before stainless steel became the go-to steel for blades. The drawback there is that you have to keep the blades lightly oiled _all_the_time_. You need to wipe it down with an oiled cloth every time, and sometimes more frequently, you use the blade. The other minus for me personally is the absence of a lanyard hole. A lanyard is so helpful in drawing the knife, and in keeping it in your control when you are trying to move fast and keep out of sight. Just keep it sharp and inspected and lightly oiled, and it will serve you well. Good luck.
