Designed by a country boy from America's heartland and proudly made in the USA, the KA-BAR "Globetrotter" Fixed Blade Knife is as American as apple pie. As its name implies, however, the Globetrotter is versatile and tough enough to tackle practically any cutting job in any corner of the globe, from towering alpine peaks to low-lying deserts and every locale in between. That's surely what designer Jesse Jarosz had in mind, recalling his days hunting, fishing, trapping and generally enjoying the great outdoors in the Nebraska wilderness, where he grew up. The Globetrotter boasts a stout 3 1/2" drop point blade forged from 1095 Cro-Van steel, and a textured brown handle made with exceptionally durable yet lightweight Ultramid. Jarosz's winged maker’s mark is stamped into the handle. At 7 1/2" long overall, the Globetrotter is amply sized for everyday cutting tasks and then some, yet is easy to transport - especially with the included MOLLE compatible sheath and handy lanyard ring. The Globetrotter is KA-BAR's first joint venture with Jarosz Knives, but it's far from designer Jesse’s first rodeo. Growing up on acreage in the Nebraska countryside, Jarosz often helped his father with woodworking and construction. Like generations of his family before him, the young Jesse developed a genuine passion and knack for working with his hands. Having access to his father's tools, he was always building or tinkering with something in his free time. Loving knives and building things since he was a small child, it was just a matter of time before Jarosz combined the two, making his first knife well before his 18th birthday. Driven by a strong work ethic instilled in him by his family, Jarosz began crafting custom high-end knives soon thereafter, eventually founding Jarosz Knives. KA-BAR is proud to add Jesse to their roster of skilled custom knife designers.
