I’ve been wanting this knife for quite some time now and the wait was worth it. The knife itself is very streamlined but very old school. The handle is a beautiful hardwood and the blade is full tang. For collectors, this piece is a great addition but can also hold its own out on the field. I recommend this to anyone.

I love this knife. On inspection the handle is large and solid, the blade razor sharp. The one thing this knife deserves would be a good leather sheath. I recommend buying it. LJP

Last month I received this knife as my first "knife of the month club" prize! I'm impressed with the quality and the balance of this blade. Balance point is at the guard and assembly is of good quality. The sheath that comes with it is worth the price of the knife alone. I even liked the velcro keeper for the knife so you don't loose it from the sheath. My only issue is it wasn't very sharp when it arrived but my diamond sharpener made quick work of that. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone looking for this type of knife.

Got this as my knife for the $9.99 knife monthly subscription and couldn't be happier. Once I seen the size of the package I knew I was getting something a lot better than a pocket knife and they continue to give me great items through this subscription. Feels very sturdy and came Sharp As a Razor out of the box. Very happy with this one! Thanks budk

Definitely 5 stars. Not really heavy but great to work with. Nylon sheath, but it's nice and fits well. This is a keeper.

Gorgeous knife, and it slices brisket like a chef's blade. Would work nicely on just about any kind of meat, alive or dead. It looks like the price got bumped up a couple of dollars, but I would pay $20 for this, easily. A must-have.

I just recived mine and let me say i was blown away. While most of the reviews talk smack about the sheath but you aren't here to buy a sheath now are you? The knife is very very solid, mine came nearly shaving sharp, a quick swipe or two on a sharpener and you won't even need to buy razors anymore. Feels very nice in the hand, has a nice weight and the fixings aren't going anywhere. Honestly i would have paid $50+ for this and still would be very happy. Moral of the story, this is a must buy blade.

I ordered this knife on Tuesday, FREE Shipping and I got it the same week Friday, yesterday. It's a fantastic knife. I have many knives and swords, mostly Samurai, and Combat Commander. It's a great knife and I love everything about it. Wood handle is strong and mine is quite beautiful. Blade is flawless. Yes it had oil stains but came off by just rubbing my thumb on the blade. Very sharp. Thank you BudK.

This is the one that will go every where I do. Can not believe the fit and finish of this knife. The back has been ground to minimize weight,,but plenty back left to baton. The feel in my hand takes me to times long past. This was the fifteenth order from budk. One order included 15 knives. All orders included some. THIS is my favorite. Why would someone make this and give it away at this price?

I ordered five of these recently for my own use as well as to sell and I am really pleased. This knife looks really good, feels really good in my hand, and you can't beat the price! The only minor negative is the sheath because it's nylon and not leather and this knife deserves a good leather sheath.

This is a great knife at this price. Comes Sharp right out of box but with a little sharpening it will dry shave you. If your thinking about buying this knife stop and do it you'll be glad you did . On the 1-5 scale it's a 10+ .

This knife is sharp! The weight on this knife is perfect. The handle is nice. Feels good in my hand. Someone complained about the handle being too big. That's crap. If your hands are smaller than mine, sucks to be you, but get a smaller knife. I love how old fashioned this knife looks. If I got stuck out in the woods or desert or something, I'd want this knife with me.

I actually love this knife. Very sharp out of the box and the look of it is just outstanding. I have a couple of the smaller knives in this same design line and I like them all very much. It looks so good that it's going to be hard to take it out and use it. It may just stay in my presentation case as part of my collection. I think the handle is just a tad on the small diameter side for my hand, but a knife handle is subjective to it's owner. Too small or too big just depends on you, but having said that, that one thing is not enough for me to deduct any points. It is after a toothpick style, which means long and slim. It fits that description nicely and for my money this knife is a bargain.

I recently bought the Montana Toothpick and it went way beyond my expectations. The full tang offers a great level of stability and power, the blade is razor sharp right out of the box. I am very pleased and satisfied with the knife and the great engraving job with my initials. Thank you Bud K.

This knife is very basic and solid. I love it because it is so light and nimble in the hand. Sheath leaves some to be desired. I'd easily pay 30 if it came with a good leather one. Also a good option for hog or bear hunting. Never know when they will get too close.

Great feel to knife. Great weight and size as well. Easy weild and easy to carry. Comes with a nylon sheath which I would have preferred a leather one but not a deal breaker for me. Comes fairly sharp right out the box and you can't beat the price.

I didn't know I like knifes until I bought two from Budk. Back then I thought Budk was just a other knife site. But not now. After a small collection I can clearly see that Budk is king. The last two knifes just blew me away. And I mean far away. I wont say the other knife because I may buy one for my fishing buddy after he's been drooling over a TR130 I pick up. And I hope there is one left. He will flip-out over the 2nd one like it. But this one. The photo here just doesn't do it justice. Mine came with a hint of red and just glossed all over, Not that it didn't fit like non other in my hand. In short, SOOOO, SOOOO pretty. My next two orders won't be knifes but Budk is kicking B**. Way to go. #1. You may need to hunt around for the knife for you but its here, they have it. And when you fine it. Wow! Best knife on earth.

Great knife, i like the curve of the handle. It is very comfortable in my hand. The two tone wood is also a nice touch, very nice looking handle. The blade is more than i expected it to be. I have a couple old Arkansas toothpicks and this Montana toothpick is far nicer in comparison and much stronger and sturdy! This is definitely going with me up the mountains every time i go to my cabin. I love this knife! It's a cross between a toothpick and a bowie and it looks awesome

I bought this to give it a try because it is about the same design as one of my favorite fighting bowies; what a pleasant surprise that it turned out to be such a nice knife! I wasn't sure what I was expecting, but the blade has a good edge, the heft is nice in the hand and it fills my hand without it being too much. Overall I am happy with this and plan to make my own leather sheath for it because it just doesn't look right in a nylon sheath.

My instant friend ship with this knife started with the fact the steel is AUS-6 I just like this steel have several with this steel just can't beat it for holding edge and sharpening in the field where it counts the putting together you just can't ask for anything better at this price ,it's just not out there in the knife world BUDK has my vote don't miss out.

Totally pleased with this Bowie! Very sharp out of the box and the fit and finish are top notch. Had it a few weeks now and it holds an edge nicely, even after heavy use. A++

Some bowies are way too big to really do anything with. This one is just perfect though. Quality steel and the curved handle is ergonomic. Sadly, the sheath is nylon instead of leather. But the nylon sheath makes the knife seem more like something that was meant to be at your side backpacking instead of just a cowboy showpiece. Much pleased.

I am very pleased with this knife. It was sharp out of the box, is well balanced and has a great feel. Craftmanship appears to be exceptional. I can't believe there is a better buy anywhere.

Blade and handle seem to be one piece, Mine is a solid knife! I'll customize it by rounding off the handle for confort, polishing the blade, and giving it an edge. I will also make a leather sheath for it. I'll put it to work on the homestead and wear it daily.

I was VERY surprised by this knife! The steel is thick and heavy (I like it). I was expecting to have to sharpen it when I received it, but it was already sharp as h**l! The blade and angles are dang near perfectly straight. Looks like a $100+ knife. I love it!

This knife arrived five days after ordering it on line - the quality was far above what the price suggested and I wish I could say the same about the sheath. The blade is .158 of an inch thick (4.04mm) and 8.250 inches long with a full tang, built strong and has a beautiful, smooth handle that affords a good grip even with the largest of hands. The knife is made in China but with excellent workmanship. Absolutely no complaints with the knife and it can be used both tactical or practical and any Army Ranger would do well to have this knife on his pistol belt. Texas has diamondbacks and sidewinders but Indiana has timber rattlers and two legged type sidewinders and this knife will take care of anything that comes across the trail. Can't go wrong with the knife however the sheath is an insult to this quality knife. It was a true bargain at $12.98 and with the special penny shipping - ha - a real steel steal! Buy it soldier. Happy trails.

"Ordered one knife to review quality and was impressed with the fit and finish as well as the feel"" of the knife. Sanding and bolsters very smooth with a low luster finish. Ordered 2 more and gave them away as xmas presents to my two mid 30s kids for use while on camping trips. Bob in Colo."""

Oh come on! This knife looked nice in the catalog, but it is far more impressive in real life. The blade was finished just about as good with a style that impresses from first glance. It is very sharp. Functionally sharp. The handle is flawless and has a great shape. I usually like straight-forward styles but something in the look of this knife caught my eye. This knife holds its own in beauty and style with any of my knives that I paid five to ten times more for. This is one extremely impressive knife. I'm going to use it in the field, because it deserves that. I strongly urge anyone that wants a beautiful knife that is built well to buy this one. I'll be buying more as gifts.

The knife is well built and would definitely get the job done, but the handle is uncomfortable unless i have gloves. But overall a nice piece.

Upon receiving my two new toothpick bowies I am quite pleased. Unlike the first one I received where the guard was loose, both of these they were solid in place. All in all a Nice sturdy feeling knife. I still think the handle is just a tad thick, but some may like that. I also forgot to mention last time that that in my opinion, the sheath is a piece of shit, and that hurts the overall score. It just doesn't look like it was built to last. A knife like this deserves a leather sheath perhaps. Maybe there's a local place I can get one made. Overall a 3.5-4 out of 5.

I bought this knife and I was impressed but the description did lie (at least to me) it said razor sharp but I got it and it could barely cut paper and that's not a problem because I sharpened it but for the price I say this knife is great and I would recommend buying it to anyone that likes knives such as myself but there was a small barely noticeable crack in the handle where a rivet went in but it's not bad I'm giving it four stars

I cannot attest to the actual steel quality, But the knife is well crafted and feels sturdy. A very handsome piece. Word of warning if you wear this on you hip from the front or rear view it looks like your carrying a firearm. Full Tang. Hard to beat.

Got my knife in the mail today. Very happy with the Ridge Runner Montana Toothpick Bowie Knife & Sheath. It has a good weight to it and it is razor sharp. Not a big fan of the pakkawood but it is pretty. Highly recommend this knife for the price.

i bought this knife about 6 months ago and i will preface this by saying it is a great knife and i will buy another soon. the upsides of this knife are most obviously the price. it also can take a fairly nice edge even though i have no idea what kind of steel it is ( i know its not high quality) it also holds and edge...decently i guess. i put this knife through the ringer. i batoned with it, A LOT. i went on many camping trips with it and it whooped a**. i had fun with it. the handle is very ergonomic and it fit my hand perfectly. it is full tang and has a nice weight to it. and a nice balance. now to the downsides. well it holds and edge like i said...decently but nonetheless it is 12 dollars. its steel is meh. thats the only way i found to describe it. but the knifes major flaw is that the steel is not great. after months of batoning with it just the other day the knife finally failed me. i was batoning an easy piece of wood for this knife. as doing so the knife snapped about halfway through the blade. now im not surprised and i am not angry. that is the only major flaw of this knife but it lasted long than i expected and i thoroughly enjoyed owning the knife. i will be buying a new one soon. this knife is a fun knife to mess around with but you should not rely on it with your life. for 12 dollars it is more than worth it. but for a knife that will last years and that will save your life i would go with something like the RTAK-7, cold steel trailmaster, buck hoodlum, or any large bladed knife that you have tested and will trust. i would not trust this knife.

Unfotunately I am a collector and not a hunter or a user. The is beautiful knife, well constructed but I can't vouch for its ruggedness or durability. Made in China as alot knives are today it looks great in a display case and a steal for $10.00.The sheath seems like it should last..Go for it...

I've been eyeballing this knife for weeks maybe months, and I finally got my hands on it through a sale. I'm a little disappointed, but it's alright. The handle is much wider then I would have like, could definitely use a thinning down. The guard was loose on arrival as well. Other then that I rather liked it. However my friend's brother liked it too and bought it off me so I will probably buy another one on the next sale. Can't wait to put it through some tests!

Decent size for a closeout knife, but I can see why it's on sale, one of the wooden pieces on the handle is curved, meaning there's some space between the tang and one half of the wood handle, I'm too worried about that though, it's wood, it can be fixed, the other thing is that it had a grind on the spine, I would have preferred it to be full, even though I knew that before I bought the knife, all in all, for this price, it's a decent knife...
