Product Description
United Cutlery's Bushmaster will have you covered in any intense situation, whether you're braving the Amazon or simply out on the hunting trail. From the powerful blade to the survival gear included, Bushmaster covers all the bases.
I bought this knife and used it a few times before the blade snapped off completely. The piece if metal at the base of the blade that goes into the handle is only an inch long and where mine snapped wa as where the rivet was placed to hold it in. The two side of the rivet are a quarter inch thick and that is the entirety of the support for this blade.

Great purchase!
This knife is very solidly built with a razor sharp blade by only complaint is the saw teeth on the blades spine are a bit thick to be used effectively but i guess thats ok as for all the equipment that comes with the knife its all good the sharpening stone works good the snare is solid and the survival kit inside the handle is good and for those who don't like knuckle guards(for some reason) the knuckle guard can be taken off of the knife so overall its a great knife well worth the money

Knife lives up to ad
The blade is massive and sharp--Razor Sharp (mine was). Handling the knife in different situations and positions proved very user friendly (and dependable). I buy equipment to use in the mountains and high tight-arse brush. If the equipment doesn't measure up, I return it. This knife is a keeper. J. Francis. Oregon.

Solid knife!!
This knife just arrived. And first thing I noticed, was how solid it was made.I whacked down a bamboo tree, and still, the blade was tight, and razor sharp. The compass is very accurate, and all the pieces came as stated in the ad.Even though it's a large knife, its surprisingly light. And the hand guard could be very beneficial in a "brass knuckle" situation.Best melee weapon for a grizzly attack.Great knife overall.

I've carried one on five continents for 21 years
Glad to see it is still in production. Ice carried one for 21 years. Takes a razor edge, and does anything asked. Only thing wrong is the compass got busted in a forty foot fall from a bluff. Other than that, I stand by it. Ordering three for my nephew and sons. ;-)

After 5 Years Of Abuse...
You just can't kill it. I've tried! I used this thing for more jobs than you can imagine. Beating, prying, throwing it at trees. I finally put it on a three foot handle and use it for a walking stick/spear. I'm here to buy another.

Great Knife
First off, this thing is big. I'm a "normal" sized guy and it reaches from my finger tips up to my elbow. It has a good weight to it, and it pretty sharp out of the box, a few swipes through a sharpener and I could shave with it. Sheath is good quality. Comes with a pretty good assortment of survival items, the snare is pretty heavy-duty, everything seems decent quality. The compass works as well as you'd expect for general heading, probably not entirely precise. Haven't had the chance to use it except for cutting come rope, which was no problem, and I don't expect anything else would be a problem for it. I did ditch the flashlight for a roughly equivalent sized LED though. Overall a great knife/shealth/survival kit combo for the price.

Great Knife
Great product and has a good weight to it not a flimsy knife at all. The matches that come with the knife are not worth much of anything but I replaced them with basic matches and its great. Overall, with everything that you get in this knife and case for the price you pay, it is simply a great deal and a reliable survival tool. The knife also comes very sharp out of the box, will cut paper with ease. Great knife, I love that I bought it.

Bushmaster survival
This knife is phenomenal!!!!!! I got this knife and instantly fell in love. It came super sharp right ot of the box and the survival kit is amazing! for only 30$ i would get it! you will never find a better sharper knife than this for $30. The only down side is the horrible flashlight it comes with i couldent even see the light when it was really dark. If you get this knife replace the flashlight and your set to live! i Highly reccomend this knife to any collecter.

I also just got this Knife yesterday, and wow, its so much larger than I imagined. This isnt a knife, its a decapitating short sword, Very. very pleased with it, and at $40? Youd be insane not to get this beauty.

A truly remarkable package! Not everything on the picture you see is what you get, but still an overall good deal on the knife.

Okay, the plastic object next to the snare wire doesn't come with the package. Instead its a rather cheap flashlight.

All the other devices are included and the sheath can be strapped from your belt to your leg for easy mobile carriage.

BE CAREFUL!
Extremely sharp, you just have no idea!
I miss handled the blade for only a moment and cut through the cap of my right index finger and had some major bleeding for the first hour. Because of its size and weight it can easily be mishandled and cause serious injury.

Overall rating for price per quality: 5 Stars

Survival Knife
I just got my United Cutlery BushMaster Survival Knife in from UPS this morning. THe shipping was fast as lightning. I ordered this on the 17th and today is the 20th! WOW! The first thing I noticed was the packaging, very professional on BudK's part. I was pleased. The knife had a very good edge to it, I haven't field tested yet but I have chopped a small tree down so far and it worked wonderful. I did find that I liked the knife better without the handgaurd but that's just a preference. The thing's it came with was awesome and all good quality. the only thing that differed was it was suppose to come with a spare battery for the flashlight but didn't which is no big deal at all. just a missadd. I really like the fishing line and fishing thing's it came with. those would come in handy and is very light weight. I thought the knife would be small but it's not at all small. weighty but very handy to have. the back saw on the blade work's good to and it also came with a good edge for 440 SS. I highly reccomend this knife to any new outdoorsmen. It could also be used for a deer skinning knife or a fishing knife. I'll post how good on skinning catfish it is later :) I give this knife 5/5 Stars!

Worth the cost.
This knife is a beast. It's sturdy, it came sharp, and the sheath is actually reasonably good quality. It is hollow handled, but it is heavy duty enough, and will not break easily.

Great knife!
This knife is awesome in size and utility.Takes a good edge, plenty of weight, balance is good! only problem with it is the handguard will rub your first finger raw.Easy enough- take it off! it could be bent slightly to fix or leave it off. yes the flashlight stinks and it could use a few better supplies.... but for the price, the knife is what you are here for right?!.. get one and restock it!

Great knife, One problem
The knife is great, massive, heavy, durable, nice inner plastic guard in the nylon sheath... sharp nice supplies that can be stored in the handle and sheath. BUT, my problem comes with the handle in general, the hand guard is a cool feature but I wish it just attached in a better way it can turn on the places it attaches a tiny bit, and when I took it off I noticed the blade wiggles in the handle a bit, back and forth, I'm not sure if this is how the knife is supposed to be, because it is a fixed blade, but I know it's not full tang either, still, it's pretty sturdy, maybe Budk can send me an email about whether or not it's supposed to be like that, it's fine now, as long as it doesn't fall out of the handle or something. Thanks Budk!
tommy james Oct 02, 2012 (4 out of 5)
not full tang, huge drawback. comes with almost everything shown. has a flashlight instead of that white thing next to the snare. comes VERY sharp. all the weight is in the blade but that's to be expected with a survival knife.

Bushmaster Survival Knife
I just received my Bushmaster Survival Knife and I have to tell you, this is one of the best survival knives I have ever bought from BUDK or any other outlet out there. When I removed it from the box, I found it to be exactly what it was advertised as. The knife was sharp, durable and had a really nice sheath and storage compartments. The only thing that I would probably change about this knife is the flashlight that comes with this knife. The flashlight doesn't shine very well. At first I thought it was the battery but I tried several new ones and it just doesn't live up to expectations. This is a great buy. Just need to equip with a better flashlight.
