United Cutlery Commander Boot Knife & Boot Clip Sheath

Very excellent build and sturdy feel. The gripping is very tacky (and i mean that in a good way) as well as being full tang, it doesnt feel like a full tank blade, making it very strike heavy and light at the same time.

Knife seems well made. It's light weight, but sturdy and well balanced. The sheath is good. The handle is good and looks to be durable. The blade is sharpened on both sides at the tip, and stops halfway on one side, so you can use your thumb at the bottom, I guess. Looks like the black one is sharpened completely on both sides.

Bought it as gift, so I haven't used personally, but I was impressed with the feel and apparent quality for the price. The gift recipient says he really likes it!

As my first purchase from BudK, I was kind of on the fence about getting anything........Until I read the reviews. That's what REALLY got me motivated to buy the knife. I have to say, I'm incredibly satisfied. The blade is really sharp right out of the box, which is just awesome. The handle, though, seems a bit small for my hand, but I could also just have to get used to it. The sheath itself needs to be broken in, but I'm sure once I get it broken in, it will become the new knife I carry on me. :D

I was surprised of the quality of this knife for the price! AUS-8 for Under $20 and a Leather Sheath.....WOW!! Really sharp right out of the box. Not too big and not too small....great for EDC. Well worth getting esp when they offer free shipping now and then.

budk has a lot of awesome things but this has to be my all time favorite! i recommend this boot knife to anyone. it comes pretty sharp, good enough to do anything you want with it. also the handle has awesome grip, and shipped very fast. once again this is a recommendation to anyone!!!!

I see there are no reviews on this knife, so allow be to be the first! I will cover everything you need to know about it.<br /><br />When I purchased this knife I imagined it being a little bigger than what actually arrived at my door; however, I found this to be a good thing. I rather like its size. Small enough to carry with you wherever you go, but big enough to get the job done. I couldn't be more impressed with this knife! It has a very nice synthetic handle and a beautiful silver finish on the blade. When I first got it, it was pretty sharp, but you may decide to sharpen it a bit more; I did. Another thing I want to mention is the carrying sheath it comes with. The knife goes in and out great, and doesn't get hung up on anything because it has a lining made of a hard, smooth material. In the description it says this is a boot knife, but it can also be attached to your pants or a belt via a metal clip on the back of the sheath.<br /><br />On a side note, from this website I also purchased the dagger that is advertised right next to this one if you go to the knife category, and then the combat knife subcategory. It's exactly the same, but with a black finish, and is sharpened all the way down both sides, as opposed to just one and a half like on this knife. The black knife comes with a sheath that can be used on your belt as well, but also comes with a shoulder strap. The reason I am mentioning this is because if you purchase both and are wondering if the shoulder sheath and the boot sheath can be used alternately between both knives, the answer is yes and no. This knife will ONLY fit in the sheath it comes with, so you cannot use it in the shoulder sheath that comes with the black knife. The reason being is because this knife is only sharpened half way on one side, which makes it thicker at the base of the blade, just enough that it wont fit in the shoulder sheath. This was a little disappointing, but that's perfectly fine. So while this knife cannot be used in the shoulder sheath, the sheath it comes with is of very good quality and will give you no problems.<br /><br />I will confirm that the dimensions of this knife are exactly as stated on the website. As you can tell, I have nothing but good things to say about this knife. No cons whatsoever. I apologize for the lengthy review, but I like to inform future customers of exactly what they are purchasing, and give a few tips of how to make your experience better. I wish more people would do that so I myself could have a better knowledge of what I am buying. So, if by the end of reading this there is still doubt in your mind, I have three words: JUST BUY IT!!! mine just came earlier this week and i must say it's better than i expected. the workmanship is good and the grip on the handle is great not letting your hand slip. it comes pretty sharp. well made and well balanced, I'm very pleased. i will buy from budk again. shipping was also pretty quick. thank you budk. ive wanted this knife for a wile , it comes with a very sharp point that wears down kinda fast but stays sharp as heck , the knife blade itself isnt to awful sharp but still sharp , i put the knife on my belt insted of my boot and its very comfterbal , one of my favorite knives now , i might get another just so i wouldnt treat the one i already have like a baby and beat it up a bit , im positive it would stand up to the punishment but i still want to take care of it as well as i can
