Product Description
This Black Tiger Katana is the sword you need to complete your collection. It features an octagon guard with authentic Japanese details and an ABS handle accented with brass plated pin covers. The 27 1/2” stainless steel blade offers a piercing tanto point.
As a new collector I think this blade is not that bad. The price is $29.99 so don't expect some intense katana that you can cut anything with. It works great for wall hanging and I have used it few times to cut fruits and it works great. Definitely worth the buy!

Very Satisfied. Got two of these and the only downside is they arn't as sharp as I expected, but that can be fixed. Definitely worth it.

It's good
This sword is a sound blade over all. The rivets stuck out a little but I wrapped the handle anyways. Since i can't see the metal run down the handle I assume it's not full tang. On the first day right out of the box i cut the bigger box it came in smoothly into two pieces. I practice bushido and this sword does fine for me to practice form and style with a live blade but wouldn't bring it to a real sword fight. It is definatly a weapon to be handled with respect.

Sturdy black katana
Let me start by saying that budk has yet to let me down! Everything I order is what I expect and even more! I bought this katana for myself, and I wanted something that looked good but was sturdy. and I tell ya, for a low price, sleek black katana, this cant be beat. I didn't give it a full 5 stars because there were a few MINOR flaws, a couple of the handle rivets are not flush but don't stick out bad enough to hurt your hands, and there was a bb sized spot of rust on the spine of the blade just at the tip. I'm fairly certain the scabbard is plastic, and the handle is either plastic or wood, its light material, but overall this sword is VERY sturdy. and with no decorative caps on the handle or scabbard, there is nothing to fall off and be glued back on. If anything else comes up I will edit this review or write another, but for now great job budk! A great budget sword that I would buy again in a heartbeat!

BlackTiger Full Tang Katana Sword
My sword came dull so after I sharpened the blade (and it took a good edge)I was happy with the sword. The sword is very sturdy and feels good as you do your practice. It has a great build meaning it feels tight and strong, it is worth the money. Just remember it comes very dull and it is stainless steel hope this helps everyone interested in this sword. Thanks BUDK

Very nice for price. Handle is cheap and mine had many boils and glue where rivets went into tang.

Its not too bad!
This is a basic, reasonable quality sword, especially considering the dirt-cheap price. I would not suggest using it for Tameshigiri, but as a spare blade to keep in the trunk of the car, it should handle the occasional Zombie, methodist, or kirby vacuum cleaner salesman. Miyamoto Musahshi wrote that you should never get too attached to any weapon, but should learn to use any weapon at hand with skill. If I lost this sword in battle, but survived, I would not weep bitter tears. I would just ask BUDK to send me a new one. I wish they would just leave the bogus hamon off the blade and acknowledge it for what it really is though.
I've had a few buys from budk and can say I'm fairly pleased with them. But this sword was kind of a let down. The handle snapped on the first day of use revealing not even a half tang sword. Only decorative.

not as advertised
bought one of these. its not full tang. tang is 2.5 inches long, blade is glued into a wooden handle. rivets are all fake. spent 2 hours modifying it to have a real full tang. which shortened the sword by 5.5 inches. false advertising.

Not Full-tang
I have only had this sword for about a month, but that is more than enough time to figure out that this is not full-tang. A couple weeks ago I was chopping pumpkins under the assumption that this sword was full-tang and secured in the handle. It proved me other wise. I managed to get through my pumpkin, then I let my Dad take a turn on his. Then after two slices, the blade flies into the fence, (where I had just been standing a few seconds before), and leaving my Dad holding a broken handle. When I go over to retrieve the sword, I find that the sword is a half-tang and that it is not secured into the handle with anything other then glue. So if you want a display sword buy it, but if you like killing pumpkins stay away. (Budk, you may want to change the description from full to half-tang, because it may be false advertisement)
