This sword was only $9.79,, normally I wouldn't even consider such a cheap item, but it looked nice,,,WRONG....!,, the handle is about 3 inches too short, the balance is awful. The guard is made from stamped sheet metal and has serious sharp edges that will cut you,,,the handle is loosely wrapped with a thin stringy mesh, really BAD....! The blade itself is not bad, but it's clumsy with such a short handle. If this sword had a longer, hard wood riveted handle and a cast metal guard, it would be great,,,, but the cheapness in the over all is terrible. I usually expect better from a Pakistan sword, but not this one.... :(

Its a good sword but i needed to be sharpened when i got, not much of a problem. the sheath is bad if you keep taking the sword in and out of it. The back sheath is ok if your not a guy with alot of muscle/fat ratio.

this sword is amazing. it arivved in only two days. the sword is good for cutting up boxes, cans, and bottles or just for a collection/display. the sword comes sharp enough to go though the box it comes in like butter. the only problem is the strap. it's made of cheap leather so if your not careful it will break, but you could probably by another one at a craft store or put a peice of rope on it. but it is a beautiful sword and the handle is great, and the tassel on the end of it is very entertaining. 5 out of 5

A great sword for a low price. Simple and clean sword. Sheath looks flimsy but its not. There was some plastic where the blade meets the handle sticking out, but above all, I like it. Didn't have any protective oil on it but looks fine. Get them while they last!

Overall a nice blade indeed. Very much WORHT IT'S PRICE. Needless to say, very durable and "strong" for the price. The blade is well attached to the base. Pretty thick on it's width. only small and almost meaningless problem is the strap, however it is an easy to solve obstacle. If cared for properly from the beginning, it will last you for a very long time. Overall a great sword for it's price and no remorse on the bargain. 5 stars indeed.

(this is my moms account im a boy fyi)i found these amazing! i ordered two of them and they seemed very well made. but, one of the straps was off but i figured u can just put them back on easily. i bought them cuz hey there 10 bucks and i can swing um around and if i break one its only 10 bucks for another. so excellent deal if u wanna swing something around

The Blade is really nice quality for $10. All of my friends thought it would shatter when I hit it against something, but it didn't. Of course it's not the best quality, but for the price I'd say it's one of the best swords I've ever bought. Also I bought a wooden tai chi sword for three times the price.

its alright, nothing special, and its not sharp, but you can always get the sharpener for it. remember, its just a practice sword, mine hasnt broken yet, but it has bended, although i did easily bend it back to normal. the case and handle are really nothing fancy, its good for just practice and cutting some branches in my backyard...heh, heh, heh.

This sword is a very good product
Very Sturdy
I dont know what the hell that other guy was talking about
The reason your sword fell apart is probably cause you were torture testing it agiant a rock or something ___
Yeah you cant do that
The black sword is better then the red one in my opinion
A must buy for the low price of 10 dollars
And this sword does come with a black sheath :D

I personally liked this sword. Some of the cloth on the handle feel off, but that's because it's wood and cheap. Otherwise, the sword is quite sturdy. The blade is thick, and there is much potential. A very nice Ninjistu Katana. I've never used a Bushido version before, so I cannot yet determine the better of the two. Otherwise, a nice, cheap, simple sword.

This is good as a beginners sword, I haven't had any previous swords except for ones ive made myself., anyways the imperfections in the sword. at the base of the handle there used to be a few threads, i dont know what they are called but they came out quite easily. the guard has a few sharp points but not much, the handle was covered in a loose cloth wrap which slides down after repetitive use, but with a small tough push it will spread back. now onto the sheath strap the little metal clasps break easily and the cloth rips around the metal clamp quite easily. now onto the blade, it came extremely dull the word pakistan was engraved in the bottom of the blade it is very annoying ill file it out later it was bent to the left, it was also bent slightly forward. for the price this was a good blade but if the price was increased i would not buy it i plan on buying more swords later,i rated this 3.6 but ill round it to 4.

The blade seems a bit too big for the scabbard, but thats what the description said about the sword. The reason why i am giving it a 4/5 stars is that scabbard end where the you insert the blade in, the fabric wasnt sewn that well, quiet a few loose threads. However, everything else its beautiful

I really like it its light and the grip feels nice, but i dont like the strap because it's too small so its constricting against the chest and back

Great first sword! for ten bucks PERFECT! Not sharp at all when it comes. more of a show piece but you can get it sharp pretty easily if you have the right tools.

good sword... pretty heavy... it is not too sharp to begin with and since it is made of stainless steal you have to be even more precise with the sharpening. the leather strap on the sheath is really useless. They broke when i hung it on my wall with the strap... but other than that it is a great buy for the price... i mean it is only ten bucks.

For the price it is a decent price. Came dull but a sharpener got it to a cutting edge not razor sharp, but it can cut. Only real gripe is that it came with the sword tip broken off. Also the back strap is far too small I am 6'3 and it is only the length of my arm.

For ten bucks, you can't get a better sword. I found this same exact sword for $20 on other websites. It's cheaply made in Pakistan, but if you're buying a 10 dollar sword on the Internet, what do you expect, the Green Destiny or Excalibur? It's not full-tang, so I don't recommend beating it on something. The blade came sharpened (well, sharp but not "battle-ready"). The handle wrapping can come undone pretty quickly if you're swinging it around constantly. This isn't made for "everyday use" (or, if you're me, swinging it around in my bedroom while making noises). Also, the hilt (tsuba for you hardcores) is extremely sharp and can cut into your hand. Other than that, it's cool, it's fun, you can't get a more fun sword for less.

good for the money i like the blade, but i bent it at the hilt because its not full tang just dont try to chop wood with it like i did and its pretty fun to use.

For the price it is, id have to say its one of the best cheap swords i had ever bought. Handle is snug, and wrapped greatly. Although not sharpened, it would be an easy fix to that problem. The case/holster is amazing and the sword nearly slides in. If you like to hit tree's with sticks, i suggest getting this instead, youll leave a better dent.

Just got this "2 of them" Came sharpen and ready too go, only prbs I've found with it was the strap broke trying to fit it onto my back and waist, and feel's slighty unblanced overall great sword too play with for only 10$ pick it up and start training.

WARNING - Real Weapon be extra safe, not for indoor use.

I ordered this sword with the highest hopes but was disappointed when it came. The product description said sword with sheath But only the sword came. When I called the company to switch it out with one that had the sheath they refunded my money. I will try again to order from BudK catalog and hopefully my hopes wont be shattered.

excellent product, bought for a student who broke three of my bokken before i had to put my foot down. it may break, i haven't tested it thoroughly. the edge wasn't as sharp as i would have liked, but a quick filing solves that. the kashiri strings may be annoying though

i got this and as i opened it seemed to be ok but then just handing the blade and the sheath a little they started to break i think for the price if u just want a sword that u can maybe pratice and not worry about breaking it would be fine. For 10$ is worth the buy if u plan on breaking it lol
its going to break is what im trying to say. and i would give it a 2star if it was any more then 10$

p.s the blade is barly sharp

Not sure where to begin...

did NOT come sharpened. it DID look sharpened, but edge was dull. It would not be able to cut through cold butter, EVEN if the sword was blistering hot. You would need to sharpen it yourself, which takes skill to do. The hilt guard had sharper points than the sword itself.

It DOES have a nice decoration with the handle and sheath. Talking about the sheath, it seems easily breakable, since it is flexible. I would suggest against damaging it in any way (dropping it, sitting on it, guarding with it, ect.), whether intentional or not.

the sword also came with a slight bent on it. I mean "slight" like 1-5 degrees. Possibly caused while being made. notice it because the last 2-3 inches of the blade struggled a TINY bit to get in. the push of a finger did the trick.

shoulder strap is useless in my opinion. Most likely easily breakable. would have been better if it was a backstrap. It is one for "children" AKA around 5 feet. had my younger brother try it out. LOL it fit but he could not pull it out. so it is good for a costume.

CAN NOT remove the blade for sharpening. it is placed in the hilt. not sure how far diid it goes through. I might pull it out and put pegs in like a samutai katana. they would also help if you plan on swinging it, so it will not wiggle or fall of.

SO, GREAT for a collection. GREAT PRICE. Good weight to it. nice length.

This sword wasn't very good at all.... The first few swings the wrapping on the handle started coming off. Everything was loose and rattled, the tsuba (guard) was sharper than the blade, when I tried putting the back strap on, it broke. The sword kept getting stuck in the sheaths when I tried putting them back.... It wasn't very good at all, but for a $10 sword, you can't expect much.... 3 out of 5.

the wrapping on the handle comes off very easy and the back strap broke the first time I tried it out.the good part is the blade can very easily be sharpend into a powerfully cutting sword. construction of the blade is sturdy.

When I opened the box and seen the sword, it was dull and scratched up. The quality showed that it was poorly put together as I had to pay to have it put on straight because it had a SERIOUS bend. Overall pricewise was great but I kinda wished I would have bought another item

dull and poor quality. a butter knife is sharper than this, and it also came with no sheath like shown in the picture. this is hands down the worst sword I have purchased from budk... having said that they did give me a refund without a moments hesitation when I called, which is good. I will continue to buy from budk despite this one crappy sword because they have well made products for the most part. but stay clear of this one! its cheap for a reason
