It is a good blade, 40 bucks for a real functional katana is a hell of a deal, The blade is good, The fittings are are nice n tight, Imitation rayskin, But does feel good, Love the shiny black and gold, And came quite sharp, 2 things though, 1, Its not EXACTLY as bright as the picture, Close but not quite, 2, It is full tang, But it is EXTREMELY light for a katana, The lightest in my collection by far which is amazing, And IMO, Mush has a higher quality level then an Onikiri, So you wont be disapointed in this.

Great sword! Quite happy with how it turned out. The sword obviously has had some personal attention. The tip has a slightly different sharpening bevel than the rest of the sword but is still sharp, it seems like it's supposed to have that. The handle is tightly wrapped and not frayed. However, the sword is meant to be drawn from the right so the kurikata and shitodome are a but akward. Other than that, I'm completely satisfied

I recieved the Bamboo Katana today and I must say I am impressed to be honest I had exspected Budk to try to pawn off some flea market pos on me like it was top tier loot. But altho this Katana is not exactly top tier it is close. Feels like a natral part of my arm, I order the Crane and exspressed I wanted this one and you know what? Altho it was out of stock Budk sent me the Bamboo instead. There was a chip it the saya but I'm not complaining about it. The handle is gluded on to the tang (bad budk, bad boy) it keeps everything together. No fractures to the 1045 high carbon steel when I slamed it into my Claymore to test its duriblity. All and all a great sword. I give it a five out of five

Just bought this model and the tatsu maki i think its called. i've tried many swords from musashi/munetoshi and others in the 60-200 dollar range and wanted to take take it easy lol. they recently arrived, for the most part i'm very happy with the purchase. Both are razor sharp, I'm a big fan of the textured sayas and the fittings on both were good (especially the tatsu) The samurai full tang model has an issue with something in the handle, either the tsuka/blade/tsuba or any combination of these doesn't fit right and results in a gap when the blade is in the saya. Also when swinging it doesnt necessarily feel secure. This however is the 2nd time i;ve purchased this one, i gave the 1st one away as a gift and it was tight fitting and felt good so this is probably just something i can fix with a little tlc. The important thing here is for sub 40 bucks what you get at the very least is a decent quality carbon steel blade. Both of these are well balanced and suprisingly aesthetically appealing. The gold accent on the samurai full tang pops out and the tatsu has a motiff on the saya that really looks crisp and compliments the sword. These are also shorter than a lot of standard size katanas so for younger practitioners i think these could be an option to consider especially if you are working on a tight budget. Because of the price make sure to properly exam the sword upon arrival and be able to identify basic safety check points if you will on the overall construction and its security. Very sharp, no joke so be very careful. I won't lecture, be responsible great option to learn about the katana sword and general maintenance. I wouldn't recommend using these any targets other than light (paper water jugs cardboard newspaper rolls etc.) If you aren't going to be using these for any kind of actual training related to swordsmanship. maybe just a collector or for decor these are great options, they feel considerably solid compared to mall katana and i would say they are "functional" so if you pull it out to show friends the edge will surely impress them

Okay so I'm not 100% sure about this sword, being that it's my first and thus I'm unable to range how good it is.

But from what I can tell, it has a good price (Got mine during BLOWOUT SALE). It's a stunning looking sword and it makes for a good first sword for the future collection.

However, I tried to cut the cardboard box that housed the sword and I got different results. It went half way 1st time, all the way 2nd time and nothing the 3rd time. Maybe I just don't know how to use it yet, still a good sword.

Oh yes, the deliver was quick.

Just received this sword and simply and very happy with the purchase. I'm looking to get what i consider my great quality sword, this is not that one, but while i wait to pick it out i saw this and was intrigued. This sword arrived after 2-3 days very fast well packaged and secure.

Blade came oiled. Everything is as advertised.

If you are beginner collector or just looking for a great budget sword rest assured you are getting a usable and beautiful sword in this deal, i highly encourage anyone to get before the sale ends.

will be doing a more detailed review on youtube, have to go to work but if you want to see how this sword performs and the specs check out my channel i should have a video posted by the end of the day.

Jdmsword14

This is the first sword I've bought from here and I am impressed with the quality and price. It took longer to be delivered than suggested (FedEx!!) but it was well worth the wait. It looks just like it does in the pictures and is sturdy so it will be there if I ever have to swing it at something.

This sword was waiting for me when I got home from work and hour ago, and it is absolutely beautiful. And extremely sharp. The design on the guard is even more amazing in person. Minus a few imperfections and nicks on the blade, which I fully expect on a sword of any kind, it is perfect in every way. For $40 not counting shipping, it's beyond a great deal.

vary nice looking sword this is my first order and I am definitely impressed. Sword comes sharp already but can hold a razor sharp blade with very little sharpening. only complaint is the handle could use a little more attention to detail but hey look at the price I got a quality blade that all I have to change is to make a hand made hard wood handle. I would have have another.

One of the first swords I've ever bought, I got this one along with another sword from this site. It got here in good time and in good condition. By far the most beautiful Katana I have ever seen, and sharp as hell. It sliced right through the boxes they came in. I would definitely recommend this sword for any collector.

This sword straight out of the Musashi Forge (although it's technically not considered Musashi) is a work of art that is not only beautiful but deadly as well. It is a completely functional full tang katana that is of the highest quality for the low price it is sold at. The blade has an extreme curve w/ a blood groove and hamon line--that is likely not real but painted on--and is a little shorter and lighter than the average katana. It is an exceptional sword that I would recommend to those who don't want to spend a ton of money on a real blade.

This is a wonderful sword for the price. No real visable defects other than some slight scuffs on the blade which can be polished out.Pretty sharp too! I give it a five based on the quality for the low price.

I don't even have a high enough vocabulary to explain how amazing this friggin thing is. It feels so .... professional. It came in a cool little cloth thing :P When I took the sheath off the blade was wet with some kind of liquid... it smelled funky and kinda burned my tongue. I have no idea what it was, but it was cool too. :)

This is great sword, the quality of everything is absolutely perfect, but going so far as to say this is a sharp is a big stretch. I couldn't even slice through a hollow cardboard box using an overhead swing... Again it's beautiful, delivery was fast too; its just not sharp at all

I received my sword yesterday, though I am impressed to an extent, I pretty much paid for a decent blade, and only the blade, the furnishings on the sword are sub-par at best, but again, I expected as much, my only real problem with the sword are the mekugi, as they are incredibly easy to remove, and make me question the integrity of the tang, but all in all not terrible.

The sword came in good working order. The gold relief was a tad darker than shown. The habaki had the words China printed on them, not surprised, but a little disappointed that they would go that far as to print that on there. The tsuba had some stray paint marks that could only be seen by closely inspecting it. The blade has some dirt and grime on the edges, which took a while to wipe out. Overall, it was very beautiful, but not up to full expectations. The colors seemed rather dull compared to the picture. The sheath slides smoothly, but you have to be careful not to let it slide off on its own. The design was great, but I was hoping they put a little more effort into this.

The sword is very nice to look at. The blade has a nice shine to it and the cuba is very original. The blade itself comes sharpened and cuts through water bottles like a hot knife through butter. I only had two problems with this blade. First the cotton cord wrapping came a bit frayed. The second the blade came a little bent about 9 inches from the tip. Its only about a 1/8th of an inch to the right so it isn't noticeable at all unless you are really looking for it. All in all for $40 this was a great buy.

OK, so I got this sword a year ago,I have bent it several times to check the spring in the steel, comes back to true every time. Fittings rattle a little bit, but hey its a $40 sword. I rolled up some old carpet 6" across, and saoked it in water. I did a cut test on it and it slices right through like butter. Would easily be worth $100. Blades performance is top notch.

I have had my sword for about 3 days and today the scabbard cracked. I am careful w/ my swords but this scabbard is easily dented and cracked. No complaints about the sword itself. The scabbard is terrible, but the blade is great. I just fixed the scabbard w/ super glue and wear the sword w/ the bag over the scabbard so that nobody can see all of the dents and the crack in the scabbard. The blade is as good as any 200+ doller sword by musashi. Just wear the bag over the scabbard and tie it on. It looks traditional, professional, and nobody can tell what a bad scabbard it is. Good blade. Sorry to sound like such a complainer. Its a good buy. Dont worry. I'm just a little picky when it comes to these things. I think the scabbard is just there to keep the sword safe. It does that well. The sword cant rattle around in it. Like i said, just tie the bag over the scabbard.(the bag that it comes w/)

There were a few disappointments with this purchase; but they were minor. The delivery was prompt, taking about 3 days to get to Michigan where I ordered it. The blade itself is in excellent condition with no visible scratches; it's perfectly straight (no side-to-side bending) and well-balanced. The brass fittings are tight and solid as advertised, and the handle is secure with two bamboo pegs, and the black wrapping is genuine cotton. Unfortunately the blade rattles around in the saya a bit, and is hard to draw as the mouth of the saya is a bit too tight around the fuchi. Most disappointingly, the kashira is only tied down on one side; the cotton is just tucked in out of sight on the other, making the kashira loose and prone to falling off.
That said, for 40 dollars it's still a good buy, especially the blade, and I certainly appreciate its affordability. The loose kashira is a problem, but easily fixable with glue, or, if you'd rather not glue it down and you happen to know how to properly tie off the ito, that shouldn't be too hard. Overall I am pleased with the purchase.

This sword is a beautiful one. I love it. The only problem was that the Kashiri feel of and I cant find it. I think possibly my dog ran off with it. But anyhow for the price and beauty of the sword you can't go wrong.

This is a really nice sword, blade is straight as an arrow, feels lightweight in your hands. Artwork is nice. It was shipped with a coating on the blade for protection, I have not tested the edge at this point, but I feel good saying that for $40 you'll be happy with this purchase.

I just recieved this Sword yesterday afternoon. Right out of the box, I was impressed. mine also was a little tight. But came out a little more pressure than my Masahiro. The tsuba was a little loose, and my blade if looked at very closely You can see pilles in the steel. With minor flaws aside. The sword is very sharp, balanced nicely in my hand. They say back yard beater. Well i took this outside, and cut a shrub, 1.25" Dia., in two first swipe, not bad for a cheaper version of sword. Thanks. Jim
