THE BEST!
For those who don't know how to mount, try using a wax wood staff with at least 1/2" to 3/4" diameter. One end, cut with circular saw approx. 5" directly in the center drill holes in side, slide harpoon in, bolt with regular nuts and bolts. Then wrap with para cord. This is by far my best work. Went fishing and landed 3 fish on 2nd day. Thanks BUDK.

Bugout musthave
For a long time this item never got a second glance from me. Then one day it hit me while looking at the "BudK" catalog. Wow...the survival harpoon/knife could really be useful in a bugout bag/ survival bag, etc. Sence them I have ordered several to give to all members of my family. Here's two thumbs up BudK.

Perfect for survivors
At first I was a little skeptical of the durability and sharpness of the blades but after taking them to the lake for a week and using them constantly they have held up amazingly! They are still sharp with almost no scratches at all. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good set of harpoons.

A survival must !
I wanted to purchase the survival harpoon set for a while now but when i was sent an e-mail on an awesome 2 for 1 sale, i could not let it slip by any longer.I received my order very quickly and tore open the box before i left my mailbox... and the smile came to my face immediately. As for a survival set, it was more than i expected, the cord that wrapped the long handles are surely long enough to firmly hold it in place for a spear/ harpoon and the solid piece construction was very well made. These items, along with many other Bud-K items i have ordered in the past will make an awesome addition to my own and my families survival packs. WELL DONE GUYS... keep it up... as i am sure you will.

harpoon set
I just recieved this harpoon set and they are really cool. Its a great price. I picked up a second set once i saw how cool they are. They seem very solid for the price. They do require some minor sharpening but thats easy. 1 of my harpoons was razor sharp out of the box. The others were sharp but not razor sharp.. good product! LOVE BUDK!!

Pretty Sweet For The Price
Great Knifes For The Price. Think I'm Gonna Pick Up Some More. Only Reason I Didn't Rate 5 Stars Is Because The Set I Revived Were Completely Dull I Mean Barley An Edge At All. But It Can Be Fixed. Good Job BudK Another Good Product!

I really thought that these were a good investment, they are solid, but they needed to be sharpened right out of the box. Which was no problem for me, however, i would prefer that you would revise the advertisement that they have para cord wrapped handles, when in fact it is polyester woven cord. Big difference. If you would like to continue to advertise them as having para cord wrapped handles pleas ask the people that you get them from to put real para cord on them?

More Gimmick than Tool
I bought these on a BOGO and free shipping deal (which made these practically give-aways) as a potential addition to our "Go Bags". First, the good points: These are surprisingly well made (including the very well designed sheath) and reasonably sharp (unlike some of the "razor sharp" butter knives being sold) and nicely sized. The bad news? They really are designed more for their aesthetic appeal than for their utility. This is what a "wannabe" thinks a survival blade might look like, rather than being real survival blades. That said, they are small enough and light enough and sturdy enough to warrant including at least one from the set in a "Go Bag" and, if you are willing to do a bit of grinding and reshaping, they can be made more functional. One wishes that, instead of turning out 3 vaguely "multi-purpose" blades, the maker had turned out a set which contained really useful exemplars for each anticipated need (a fishing harpoon, a skinning/gen'l purpose knife, a spear point, etc.). I'll repackage one blade from the set along with a small frog gig and stick that customized set in each of the family "Go Bags", but when it comes to edged weapons/tools, I'll continue to put my faith in my KaBar.

cheap but effective
If you don't have an issue with sharpening knives then this triple set is a low cost budget buy that seems durable. The three are the same as shown they were somewhat sharp but not razor. The sheath is durable for the most part but there's room for improvement. The cord wrap is not authentic paracord but easily replaceable.

'pooooons.
Neat. Fairly small, as stated; the heads of the units a bit bigger than a normal razor blade, but beefier of course. They weren't very sharp, but were quickly and easily made so. I give 3 stars because they're mid-tier quality, and the description says para-cord. It's not para-cord. BudK does sell 100ft for $9.99 which I bought and re-wrapped these with. Just for kicks, I double-wrapped the one pictured in the middle, and it fills a hand with a nice shank-like tool. I haven't used them in a spear-like manner yet, but the "handles" are thing and long, so I imagine they'll be good used as such: their intended purpose. Cheap price, too. Sheath isn't quality.

Cool little shanks if you trim the excess cord but absolutely terrible throwers.
Wilbur Oct 13, 2014 (2 out of 5)
Not sharp
Not sharp at all just a little smooth edge don't know what your suppose to hunt with that.
Rick S. Sep 24, 2013 (2 out of 5)
Not what was expected
When I ordered mine, there was very little description available and the picture was decieving with no video like shown now. The size is the main issue as it was difficult to tell then just what the size was but the price hinted they were small but didn't expect they are little more than a small straight blade edge knife. they are not defective just very small so since I ordered them, I kept them. If they were defective as well then I would have returned them on that basis but from that moment on if an item doesn't have proper disclosure of it's specifications then I won't order it and find it elsewhere. A video disclosure gives the best prespective of both quality and size of the item so the items with a video description works best.

Junk
Not worth buying. Not very sharp, uncomfortable, can't be thrown, hard to mount on a stick, sting falls off. Not many positives about these harpoons.
