Product Description
The Imperial Gladiator Helmet is an impressive piece of historical armor. It featues a grand black and white plume that can be seen a mile away. It is constructed of rust-resistant stainless steel with gold-colored accents. The dimensions of this helmet are 9" x 15"
I got this helmet as a mothers day gift for my wife. She has wanted it since the first time I showed it to her here on budk. I seen the price was reduced and ordered it. I'm pretty sure I scored some good points with her, because she loves it!
A few notes: The helmet was well packaged and had oil all over it. This was a good thing, as there was no rust or corrosion. Now you will have to clean it. But thats fun stuff for me! The plume was also well protected, wrapped in plastic and cardboard to keep it's shape and free from oil. After cleaning and polishing, it looks great! It really didn't need to be polished, but you can tell it has been. A few tips for cleaning the oil from the helmet: First I wiped it down with coffee filters (coffee filters will absorb the oil an not leave any scratches. I use them on my katanas and for cleaning glass). Next I used the powder bag from my sword cleaning kit and tapped the powder all over and let it sit a few minutes to absorb the remaining oil. Next I used coffee filters to polish and clean off powder. Then I used polishing paste applied with coffee filters, folding them often as they will turn black. Next powdered it again to get any residue left behind from polishing paste, then polished the powder with a soft cotton cloth.... Looks awsome!! ( i got the sword cleaning kit and polishing paste from budk also ). Signed ham'rd skull....
