HUNTER ORANGE TANTO Reviewed by Tom Homer on Apr 25, 2012   5 out of 5

I found this knife to easily be worth double the price and was happy that I ordered two of them! I wanted them for hunting/hiking in the woods as a backup to my fixed blade sheath knife. The blades were sharp on both of them and the quality of both knives are excellent. It did, however, take a solid flick of my thumb to lock up the blade tight as the blades are not assisted opening blades which is fine because that makes them legal in my state. When locked open there is no play whatsoever. The great thing about this style and color is that it can serve for several kinds of missions and if dropped in the grass or leaves it can be seen easily which is the reason I wanted them. I will get many years of use from them and you will too! Happy trails.

Decent little blade with useful features Reviewed by James Hall on Feb 29, 2012   3 out of 5

For the price, a great deal. Bought this knife as a back-up for our 72 hour emergency kit because of some of the first-responder type features like the seat belt cutter, the glass breaking nub and the highly visible orange handle. The profile of the knife and handle are thin but, the handle is wide enough that it doesn't feel too small to really hold on to. The opening action came a bit sluggish out of the box but, I figure this will wear in a bit and get smoother with time. The materials are decent though the edge on the stainless blade came a bit dull and I have yet to try out sharpening it. The seat belt cutter blade was super sharp and cut 1/4" thick nylon rope like a champ. While for an every day knife I would go for something a bit higher quality, as an emergency knife, I think this is a great bargain for function.

This is the same knife as the other Ridge-Runner tac-folders, but has an attractive orange-color handle. An affordable, quality knife! I hope this same knife can also come in a blue-colored handle eventually, for those of us interested in collecting them--Green would be cool too!
